Every decision we make is guided by a commitment to teaching youth the First Tee Life Skills and Nine Core Values through the game of golf. How did our First Tee chapter respond to the challenges of COVID-19? From March through June when t...he Spring Session programs were placed on hold, our dedicated staff and volunteers took every measure possible to create a safe environment in preparation for resuming classes for youth participants ages 7-17. With great enthusiasm, we launched the Fall Session of 33 classes with ten trained and highly committed Coaches. Class sizes were reduced to a 4:1 student to Coach ratio to allow for proper physical distancing. Participants and their parents were extremely appreciative of all the safety measures Coaching Staff implemented. First Tee Coachella Valley is proud to be on the forefront of youth organizations that opened its doors to provide participants a safe and enjoyable experience this year! But, like many other nonprofit organizations, the pandemic negatively impacted our financial bottom line. Consequently, we urgently need a broad base of annual giving donations to underwrite First Tee Coachella Valley programs that build character and provide a safe, healthy, and positive environment for people from one end of the Coachella Valley to the other. Your year-end gift will allow us to thrive and continue to serve families as local communities emerge from pandemic restrictions and young people return to school. Your donation will also enable us to implement new Strategic Plan goals, including the implementation of the First Tee Schools Program in every Elementary School across the Coachella Valley. We will also be focusing on the Special Needs Community and including kids of all abilities in the game of golf. Again, THANK YOU most sincerely for your past support. Ace level participant Trinity Hernandez was not able to go to Pebble Beach this year for the Pure Insurance Championship, so Champions Tour player Jeff Sluman autographed a caddie bib for Trinity and mailed it off! Trinity will receive a $1,000 College Scholarship on behalf of donors Ed & Lisa Vaughan and she will have the opportunity to apply for next years event (even though she will be in college). We are so proud of all the work you have put in Trinity!! Congratulations
