We’re finally here!!! This was after driving for 6 hours, unloading for 1, unpacking for 3 and shopping for groceries (cannot be without milk, eggs, and celery juice!). Cheers to a new chapter of our lives! We’ve been anticipating FLOE Eyecare - Artesia’s opening for about 4 months now. Unsurprisingly, it seems to be a recurring theme, for all the FLOE practices opening during COVID, there’s a lot of unforeseeable hiccups. However, our team has been incredibly diligent and resilient. We hope to open this location sometime within the next month or two, so HUGE thanks to all of the patients who have been patient-ly awaiting our opening. Hope this can be a miracle! There are some days where I feel like I’m choosing work over my girls because I can’t pay attention to them every time they want it. My role at home now includes being IT support for their virtual classrooms, math tutor for these crazy new ways to add and subtract and a playmate that’s never available. Today, I proactively decided to take them swimming and work outside with my hotspot because it was hot and I realized this may be something I do more often! I don’t know ho...w other working moms do this without daily guilt but for the moms who are struggling, I’m right there with you... with our schedules anchored by breakfast, snack and lunch time. #workingparent #wfh

Patient care tips for kids Be extra kind and loosen up! Kids usually come in nervous that you’re giving them 5 shots.. all at once. Assure them you’re not and in fact they may need some cool glasses You can bribe them (if parents allow it) to stay engaged. My favorite are little snacks and one of the FLOE docs give out stickers ... Ask them for their input and opinion on things.. their favorite tv show, things they like, favorite pastime. All of this will create a more complete picture of how they use their eyes (bonus: it’ll give you some things to discuss with future ped patients!) Most importantly, smile ! Choosing your office palette I am not a great designer, I don’t like shopping for small pieces. That’s why for clothes, shoes, etc I love shopping online because there’s the filter option which narrows down your choices. However, I love choosing color palettes because I love that it sets the direction and tone of the whole office. And it’s so simple, you could 3-4 colors and materials you want and everything else has to be within that initial selection. ... For our next office Artesia, we’ve chosen this vibrant tropical teal color and we’re accenting it with some light modern wood and cool grays and whites. Do not talk about pay in this meeting Engage, we want to see your personality and how you’ll treat our patients! Be humble but not too humble, we want to hear about what you’ve worked on that you’re proud about Be honest in what you’re looking for Worst case scenario you don’t get the job but you’ve made a new contact in the industry!
