This is about Sarah. But it’s also about something else. . She walked into MVMNT 7 months ago and told me that the only thing she hated more than exercise was how she was feeling. . She hurt. Had limited mobility. And maybe most painful of all - she was watching her kids begin to out-pace her. She literally couldn’t keep up.... . So I told her what I tell every single client I coach: Just show up. That’s all you have to do. Because the rest will take care of itself. . But you and I both know, it’s not that easy to just show up. Because some days suck. Some weeks are trash. Some months are hellish. Not to mention an entire year in a pandemic. You gotta be brave af to just show up. . But she did. Just show up. And some days she was in a terrible mood, with negative painful thoughts running through her head. And some days there was anger. Some days tears. But she was brave and just kept showing up. . And slowly, things began to turn. There was more range of motion. Better form. Heavier weights. Laughter. Pride. Joy. She was suddenly showing up for HERSELF. And that’s where the magic happens. . So she’s moving this week. And starting a new chapter in a new state. So many new things, and big changes. But you know what won’t change? Yup. She’s going to keep showing up for herself. . We’re taking it to Zoom. And continuing on with our journey together. Because she’s come too far to stop now. I stand in awe of her and am honored to be on this journey with her. She makes me a better coach (don’t tell her I said that tho because she’ll use it against me). . Bon voyage Sarah! Another one of my fave hip internal rotation mobilizations. I avoid it because it’s not fun but that also means I probably need to dive in more often. You feel me? I thought so. . If you want to create a whole little flow, scroll back a few in my feed and try the 90/90s and use these hip switches as a way to get from side to side and create more mobility. .
