One of my favorite architectural marvels is the Salk Institute in Torrey Pines / La Jolla coastal area. It is located right by the Torrey Pines Gliderport and by Black’s Beach. The Salk Institute for Biological Studies is an independent, non-profit, scientific research center. With San Diego having rich roots in Mexican culture, October tends to see more than your typical bowls of store-bought candy when it comes to treats. One in particular that you will start to see around town is Pan de los Muertos. Pan de los Muertos (translation Bread of the Dead) is a sweet bread and an annual Mexican tradition.
