Hello: I've been cutting California multiple star quartz. I've cut extremely rare spheres that have twelve rayed stars in. Some of the spheres have as many as six 12-rayed stars in them with as many as 14 other satellite stars having 6 rays. These spheres are one of a kind in the world. Fewer than a dozen are known to exist. The high domed cabs exhibit as many as nineteen 6-rayed stars. These are phenomenal gems that are extremely rare. Don't miss the show at Frog Town, the fairgrounds, in Angles Camp the weekend of March 29, 2015. This gemstone needs to be seen in person. A Good Time Had By All. Dave

Happy New Year! I've been working on a new mining claim. The claim is in the high country at 7,000 ft. My advertisement is out in the Jan. issue of Rock & Gem Magazine. I have been cutting spheres of the multiple star quartz. Each sphere has twenty six-rayed stars. The colors are blue to deep rose. I'm starting to make some jewelry out of fine silver and will post a photo soon. The Best!

I have been cutting spheres of multiple star quartz. These are the first spheres to be cut out of the material since the 1990's. The spheres made their first public appearance Thanksgiving day in Twain Hart. It surprised and delighted everyone who viewed the gemstone in the round. Some of the spheres have more than one rare twelve rayed stars with constellations of six-rayed stars.

Just recently I exhibited at the main branch of the Calaveras Library in the month of March. I'm standing in front of the exhibit of agates and mineral specimens. I am cutting 2 million year old dinosaur bone from an old collection for specimen and jewelry. I am orienting multiple star quartz. The gemstones in the photos show the variation of colors. Each gemstone exhibits seven stars of 6, 8, 10 and 12 rayed stars. This multi-star qtz. has a circumference of six 12 rayed stars; which makes it unique. A sphere has 20 stars of six or more rays.
