Singing with or to your child is a beautiful way to connect & bond. If you are concerned you don't have a good voice or can’t sing at all, don't sweat it. Children are not judgmental of people’s ability to sing in key. The important thing is you have fun & sing out!

Music is a creative experience which involves expression of feelings. Children often do not have the words to express themselves and need positive ways to release their emotions!

Neural pathways in the young brain need stimulation in order to develop. It’s like forging a path in the woods: The more it’s walked on, the clearer the pathway becomes. So keep those paths clear and make a point to enjoy music daily!

Our young children are working on developing the ability to keep a steady beat, so when we tap or clap or play sticks or play drums, we model the steady beat in our bodies, instead of the pattern of the rhythm.

One of the best ways you can support your child’s learning is to offer a lot of opportunities to play freely with you. Dancing around is a great place to start!

All children are innately musical!

Musical activities involve the whole child-the child's desire for language, the body's urge to move, the brain's attention to patterns, the ear's lead in initiating communication, the voice's response to sounds, & the eye-hand coordination associated with playing instruments.

Play is the primary method young children use to learn and grow physically, emotionally, cognitively, socially, and morally. So, support your child’s learning by offering opportunities to play freely and play with you, like in a Music Together class!
