Throwback to June 3, 2017 when I got to work with two of the raddest, most fun-loving people, Scotty & Jenna Halmus! As I look back at Matt + Tara’s wedding on Aug 22, 2020 I’m filled with love and appreciation for these two. Their ceremony was sweet and the vows were tear-jerking and their party was hilarious and so much fun. Tara’s dad jammed along with my acoustic guitar set on his harmonica and didn’t miss a note! It’s incredible couples like Joslyn + Tanner that make our job so rewarding. Like many engaged couples last year these two had to postpone their original wedding date, switch up vendors and cut down their guest count but that did not stop them from celebrating their love. The joy of marrying your best friend in one of the most beautiful places surrounded by an intimate group of friends and family is what it’s all about. This pandemic has created an opportunity for couples to trim down, focus on what’s most important and move forward, safely. Let me tell you Carlos + Renae are the real deal. They had to change venues, drastically cut down their guest count, tie the knot in some of the thickest smoke of the summer and they did so with smiles fro...m ear-to-ear with nothing but love and gratitude on their lips. We were able to custom-tailor a soundtrack that was representative of their collective tastes and included tracks from Zapp & Roger, GQ, Luther Vandross, Gap Band, The Whispers, Zhane, Parliment Funkadelic and Sister Sledge. Smooth R&B, sexy soul and funk mixed in a laid back and classic style was just what the doctor ordered. We celebrated in a socially-distanced fashion and made the most of an uncertain time. On Sept 5th Kurt + Christine tied the knot with stunning style and grace. These two are so sweet, fun, excitable and kind.
