Ever wonder why some of the machines, like this massage chair, say 'No Electricity' when they obviously require electricity? Here's Dan explaining why. We appreciate the likes, comments and shares our posts recieve! Thank you to everyone who has shared and donated to our Go Fund Me! With you it (and all of you), we would have closed permanently seven months ago. https://www.gofundme.com/f/musee-mecanique

Here is one of the hardest working machines at the arcade, the coin counter. Being in use practically everyday since the 1940's, it's time for a little TLC.

Many of our machines could be described as fun, wacky, weird, creepy, strange... and some fit in all of those categories and more. Here is the inside of one of the darker machines at the Musée, the Opium Den. Opium den's were a place where opium was sold and smoked. In 1875, after the start of the Gold Rush in San Francisco, the cities leaders passed the first anti-drug law in the country, banning opium dens. Driving them underground, they were common until WW2 and were found in North America, France, China and Southeast Asia.

The beautiful Swiss music box from the late 1890's. Rotating the dial changes the song that is played.. or at least it used to.

Today marks six months since we closed for Covid 19. With it lasting longer than expected and the fire at Pier 45, it's been a crazy ride.. and the only reason we are still here is because of you! The support we have received from fans, newspapers, radio, artists and more has been amazing! Without all of you, we would have been forced to permanently close months ago. A big thank you goes to Go Fund Me! ... https://www.gofundme.com/f/musee-mecanique
