Get into this podcast, y’all! @bitchtalkpod recently chatted up our Founder Brianna Noble @urbancowgirl510 about her early days as an activist, representation in the equestrian industry, and the importance of learning to laugh at yourself. You might have heard-It’s great medicine! Enjoy! Erin, Ange and Char, we look forward to seeing you at the ranch soon.

The health and safety of our kids, their families and our team are no. 1, so the riding program is taking a short break in adherence with the stay-at-home order for the region. . Stay safe everyone and make sure to keep following along for updates, our holiday wishes and a year in review of our journey. We can’t thank you enough for your support! Here we have Keanu and Kameron with Sage, instructor @sha_harah ‘s golden girl. They couldn’t believe that she’s younger than them!

OUR VISION IS TO CHANGE THE FACE OF EQUESTRIAN CULTURE... Looking back at the past six months, we feel nothing but gratitude for where Humble has been, where we are and where we're headed! While the outpouring of interest began shortly after that iconic mounted protest in Oakland, Founder Brianna Noble started working with students in 2016 irregardless of their socioeconomic circumstances or ability to pay, ensuring that no one she worked with would be excluded from the world... of horses. And now thanks to you, the following has been possible in the name of inspiring positive futures via horses: -Twenty-two young riders are currently cycling through Humble Level One. -Our stable of lesson horses has expanded from three to eight mounts. We did 100 lessons in October alone! Thank you, Dapper, Mare, Stud Muffin, Mona, Summer, Butter, Will, and Dinero (RIP). -East Bay Agency for Children became our first pipeline community partner, working with us to complete A Family Affair pilot program at Mulatto Meadows and MHA's Sequoia Arena. -We achieved 501(c)(3) nonprofit status through fiscal sponsorship with Social Good Fund. Donations are now tax deductible. -In addition to Humble's incredible volunteers and advisors, we have been fortunate to hire a full-time riding instructor, Shaharah McKoy. The impact from our on-going crowdfunding campaign, Heels Down Fists Up solidarity rides, individual and local business support, volunteers, and partnerships have empowered Humble’s progress as an access point into the equine industry for youth from underserved communities. To ride alongside us on this journey, follow, share, donate, and volunteer. Thank you! www.mulattomeadows.com/humble/ #Humble #GivingTuesday -

#NoStirrupsNovember LET’S GO! All riders, especially new riders, benefit from stirrups-less training, thereby establishing an organic base of support by improving posture, balance and leg position. TIPS: Start slow and pace yourself. Mindset! Think of it as a challenge, not torture. You’ll be a better rider for it! #mondaymotivation

Every vote matters! That’s why Brianna Noble, Yoram Savion and Kyla Searle collaborated to create Ride Out to Vote: youtu.be/n-p0d4URc_4. Black equestrian activist and owner of Mulatto Meadows/ Humble, Brianna Noble, along with filmmakers Yoram Savion and Kyla Searle, created ROTV to inspire everyone to get to the polls and exercise their civic right to vote! The video brings together Northern California equestrians of color with a nod to the legendary Pony Express, the mounted United States Postal Service of the 1800’s. Leveraging Humble’s #HeelsDownFistsUp, the social activism arm of the Mulatto Meadows platform, ROTV builds on Humble’s work, inspiring positive change from the saddle. . Show us how you #RideOutToVote by tagging us with the hashtag to be featured in our stories!

Focus on how far you’ve come, not so much on how far you’ve got to go. Be proud of yourself for all that hard work! Go ahead. You deserve it. #goodjob #humble

Haltering 101... we had to take a picture so next time we know better . Our trainer @sha_harah doesn’t miss a thing! Muffin waited patiently for our young rider to readjust his halter. Learning IS making mistakes and when you learn better, you do better! Piece o’ carrot cake! #humble

#Heelsdownfistsup for Indigenous Peoples’ Day because celebrating the rich culture and contributions of First Nations people is 365! Horses made a strong impact on Native culture from the Southwest through the Great Plains. The Navajo (Dinè), Nez Perce, the great Sioux nation, Apache, Cheyenne, Kiowa and Comanche are renowned for their superb horsemanship. Many tribes have maintained that tradition, holding the horse in high esteem through pageantry, practice and medi...cine. First Peoples Facts: The American Quarter Horse was influenced by Chickasaw ponies crossed with English thoroughbreds and the Nimiipuu (Nez Perce) are associated with the development of Appaloosas. Humble’s advisory board contributor, Rachel Royce (Dinè Nation) is an accomplished horsewoman and the first POC President of the 82 year old Metropolitan Horsemen’s Association of Oakland which has been making a comeback thanks to her leadership! With humility comes curiosity. Don’t be afraid to explore; to try something new. We’re always learning out here and that’s how we grow! Plus, you have to try cow kisses at least once! #humble

When the skies over the Bay are smoky from the fires and the temperatures are high, we really start to miss those rainy days. Our founder’s daughter, Genesis, and canine companion Goon are a whole #mood.
