Play Sparring -- We often get beginners who are deathly afraid of sparring - I think many of us have been there. Many of those same people go on to keep practicing Muay Thai and later learn that sparring is something completely different than what they thought it was. Many going on to LOVE sparring when they thought they would never even try it to begin with. -- Sparring in Muay Thai has various types of sparring. Due to the very technical nature of Muay Thai - 8 points ...of contact, clinching, targeting the whole body - it's very important to practice sparring in a safe manner. Play sparring ("Len") is the best way to do this. -- While to the untrained eye, it looks "more dangerous" because we aren't using shinguards, but really this is similar to American Football. Padding will give you a false sense of "safety" when in fact, heavy padding makes injury higher risk for inexperienced students without a professional supervising. -- When you take away the pads, it's more of less direct feedback on if you are making correct contact and utilizing good basics. It also allows you to play in a "low risk" environment, giving & taking with your partner, to build a relaxed atmosphere around contact sparring. . . . . . #muaythai #muaythailifestyle #sparring See more

Try this at home -- Alternating Teeps are a great way to work your balance, build your core, strengthen your legs as well as getting a short cardio workout in. -- We often implement drills such as this in our Bag Class to get your heart-rate going, to help build solid fundamentals, as well as to get your calorie count up for those here for exercise.... -- You can do this at home and add squats with some bridges for a small bodyweight circuit to work on your whole body.
