Stadium records, world leading marks, and personal bests are back at Mt. SAC!
Space exploration and several shout-outs to Mt. SAC, this op-ed has it all! And we tend to agree with the characterization of Mt. SAC as "a working-class workhorse" and community colleges as "the most important higher learning institutions Californians have." Thanks, Pasadena Star-News!
We are so proud of the Mountie Forensics team. These are skills that you'll use wherever your post-Mt. SAC life takes you!
We join with President Scroggins in condemning violence against APIA people and communities.
We're so proud of our championship speech team, and we can't wait for this showcase next week so we can see everything they do! https://tinyurl.com/evewithforensics
Do you have "antiques" from your Mountie days like this coin from the Honors Program? Post 'em in the comments!
Will you join us in supporting the CalWORKs Children's Reading Corner, a book drive to support the children of students who are also parents?
Jamie and Bryan Robinson's son Josh dreamed of going to Mt. SAC. When that dream was tragically cut short, the Robinsons knew that had to keep it alive for others. That's why they've been sponsoring a scholarship for fire and paramedic students since 2006.
Erica attended Mt. SAC and never left. Now she's the director of the WIN, helping students just like her! That's just one way she shows her Mountie pride. How do you show yours?
Are you as proud to be a Mountie as Assistant AD, men's aquatics head coach, and Mt. SAC alum Marc Ruh is? Show us in the comments!
As we gear up for the start of the spring semester on Feb. 22 and the pandemic continues to rage on, our attention remains on the future essential workers who are masking up and getting to work. These students and programs need your help now, so they can help us all in the future.
Part of being a Mountie alum is showing your Mountie pride whenever and wherever you can! We especially love the message of this tee.
Did you discover a passion that could be a profession while at Mt. SAC like the Harrison sisters did? Read about their story and learn how you can affect someone else's.
From the soccer pitch to the classroom and from a student to a staff member, Erica Ledezma has been helping Mounties succeed on and off the field for decades. Learn about how Mt. SAC opened doors for her and how she's now opening doors for others.
We're excited to share that the California Community College system has received the largest ever donation to any community colleges in the country! It warms our hearts when philanthropists recognize the importance of community colleges and their students.
Join us next week for the first-ever virtual President's Breakfast! Spend an hour with President Scroggins and learn about "The Economic Impact of Mt. SAC and Measure GO in High Gear." https://www.mtsacfoundation.org/presidents-breakfast
We're impressed by Coach Taylor, and you will be too!
Empowering the next generation of artists & filmmakers is the foundation of great storytelling! Join us at the #HFPAPhilanthropy: Empowering the Next Generation virtual event TONIGHT at 5 PM PT hosted by James Corden to watch the Golden Globes shine a light on your very own Mt. Erica's story is inspiring and familiar. Learn about how Mt. SAC opened doors for her and how she's now opening doors for others.
Check out Mt. SAC alum Larry Wilmore's new show on Peacock!
How is Mt. SAC alum and current NBA ref J.T. Orr spending his time in the bubble, you might wonder? Not playing Pickleball like a lot of his fellow refs (that’s a real thing, we swear! https://www.nba.com/artic//08/13/disney-world-diary-day-21 ). J.T. brought his paints, brushes, and canvases and is painting pictures to remind him of home, like this one! We're impressed!
Technical-ly speaking, Mt. SAC has its very own bubble boy! Forgive the pun and the '70s movie reference! We want to send a greeting all the way to Orlando, FL where Mt. SAC alum and current NBA official J.T. Orr is refereeing games in the bubble. We’re proud of you, J.T.! Go Mounties!
For their ten-year wedding anniversary, Jerrica and Bryce Gordon knew the only way to celebrate was to give back to the community that has given them so much. That’s why they’re establishing a scholarship named after the runway, 26L (two-six-left), where they took their very first flight together.
Mt. SAC has a proud and storied history of track and field success and a reputation for rising to challenges so this virtual track meet just makes sense. We can't wait!
