Remembering Arnie Robinson: Legendary Athlete, Coach and Friend The Mt. SAC Relays, along with countless others, mourn the passing of our dear friend and Relays Hall of Fame Inductee Arnie Robinson, at the age of 72. Arnie had been in poor health after battling back from a near fatal collision with a drunk driver in 2000 and then an aggressive brain tumor in 2005. His amazing bio and accomplishments within the sport tell the story of his superior athletic prowess, but that i...s only a small part of the Arnie Robinson story. Alongside the list of accolades are superlatives like kind, generous, caring, selfless, devoted and fun; yes, ‘fun.’ Arnie’s love of life and ability to enjoy it was infectious. It was ‘fun’ to be around him. While his athleticism earned him medals and accolades, it was his humanity that earned him a special place in our hearts. We will all truly miss Arnie, but we can rejoice knowing that, his was a life well lived. Rest in peace.
