This week we made scarecrows! Not only did we meet all of our areas of development; Social-Emotional, Language, Literacy, Cognitive, Mathematics, Physical, and Social Studies, we had a BLAST!!

Today we read , Just Ask, Be Different, Be Brave, Be You! by Sonia Sotomayor. We learned about inclusion and disabilities how we are just like plants , flowers , and trees different yet beautiful! We learned about how some people can’t use their eyes to see. For dramatic play we used a blind fold/mask and tried using our other senses to find our friends. We had so much fun trying something new! It was a great opportunity to learn more about our senses, to be empathetic about others with disabilities, and when we come across someone who is different from us and we don’t know why, all we have to do is JUST ASK!

We learned about corn biology and anatomy! We peeled the husk and silk out of the corn boiled it and had corn on the cob for snack!

Our letter focus is the letter C, for Corn ! There are different types of corn, like the Indian Corn on this picture! Corn is used to make so many different yummy foods and to feed some animals!

Today we had so much fun making cinnamon scented play dough!

C is for Corn We learned about the anatomy of a corn, like the husk, silk, and kernels. Did you know there are different kinds of corn? Look at the Indian corn below! We were blown away to know that popcorn is made out of corn!

We made Corduroy out of 2 paper plates, used BROWN, YELLOW, and GREEN paint, 2 googly eyes, and 1 button! How did we do? This was Mrs. Cabrera’s favorite story as a child!

Our focus this week is the letter C, for corn , coconuts , carrots , Corduroy, and Chicka Chicka Boom Boom ! This week’s reading list

We read, Little Cloud by Eric Carle. It’s such a great story about changes, weather, perspective, and how it’s ok to be different! We developed our fine motor skills and muscle coordination by gluing cotton balls inside the letter, C. C is for Cloud!
