Brew day. Let's have another go at making the Amber and NOT letting half a batch spill onto the floor. I will drink the Pale to sustain myself. Visitors and well-wishers are welcome to come by.
So I put a party tap on the newly Kegged Amber to draw off some lees. I left it attached and went to get on with my day. At some point, my tap came apart. Full keg of very tasty beer on the floor. Sad day.
So there are things happening...One of the considerations is the name. I like Murder Street Brewing, but I am afraid that once the brewery and tap room are open, that the name might send a message that conflicts with the overall family-friendly atmosphere I intend to foster. I do want to try and keep the Crow or Raven iconography because I think it has a lot of branding potential. So people of the interwebs, have any helpful naming suggestions?
A good day to brew beer. Coffee Stout on the way in time for New Year. The sweet potato beer is tasty and ready to drink.
Travesty! Apparently the carboys that the Amber went into weren't as clean as I thought they were. There is definitely a bacterial infection. That is a real bummer, as it tasted quite good when I sampled it.
Amber is conditioning, Sweet potato Ale is in the fermenter, and two separate types of cider on on their way. A good day. Now to do what brewing is mostly about: cleaning. At least I have beer. :)
Just sampled the latest cider. I must say this one is perfectly balanced. I think this juice/yeast/process combination is the keeper. I will get further feedback from some loyal taste-testers, and update accordingly.
Back at the brewing after a too long hiatus due to life. Nice amber that will be ready to drink by September. Next up: more cider and a sweet potato beer to have with Thanksgiving.
Its a good day to be tasting the fruits of labor. I just downed a bottle of the Amber. The color is right, the malty-ness is right, but the flavor of the base malt is not my favorite. I, however, will defer to the crowd. I think a tasting is in order. watch for some details to follow on an invite- only tasting.
Just tried the Ginger beer experiment #3. This is a beer that I made with a copious amount of ginger in the fermenter. This could be a contender. I will be entering this one for sure in the State Fair competition. It is light in color and on hops. The fuggles are just the right complement to the ginger. Be on the look out for this one during the summer.
Tomorrow I am taking another stab at the Pale ale since the last one turned out so good, and bottling some cider. Apple and Cranberry ciders will be available soon.
Busy day. Bottled Ginger Beer experiment #2, Ginger Beer from The Ginger Beer Plant (just to cause confusion), and the Amber. Put a bottle of the pale in the fridge for taste testing....Ok; GB#2 needs conditioning for sure, but shows promise. The GBP is absolutely delicious. The Amber is going to be good, but the Pale is phenomenal!
Wow! This Ginger Beer is great. I can't wait to have mass quantities on hand.
first batch of Ginger beer in the bottle, awaiting testing and the next batch bubbling away. Now what to brew next, what to brew..?
