A pandemic parking-lot Simchat Torah celebration this year. Socially distanced dancing with Torahs covered with fresh plastic dry-cleaning bags for each congreg...ant carrying a Torah. Our hybrid service had people celebrating outside and in their cars or homes by Zoom. Refreshments in clean sterile packaging was enjoyed by all. See more

31 years of Movable Minyan High Holiday Services and these were hybrid kind where social distance only makes the heart grow fonder. Back to celebrating the first and third Shabbats starting next week. That’s about 25 per year (or more than 800 Shabbats since the Movable Minyan began). You can catch it on Zoom also. Lay-led is powerful.

Here is a remarkable video which retells the story of Los Angeles in 1919. It has been said that "History repeats itself because no one was listening the firs...t time."
