What's a treetop adventure without a few nature facts? We know redwoods can grow to 300 feet or more, compared to the tallest pine tree at 268 feet or the tallest tanoak at 162 feet yet its root system is only 6 to 12 feet deep. A redwood can’t grow to be the tallest tree on earth alone. It needs the support and protection of other trees in the forest to grow tallholding carbon and providing plant and wildlife habitat every inch of the way. Redwoods create the strength to withstand powerful winds and floods by extending their roots more than 50 feet from the trunk and living in groves where their roots can intertwine.

We believe in "challenge by choice", no one pressuring or expecting you to do anything but enjoy the trees. Our guides are trained to help support guests who are facing their fears as well as challenge those who are ready to raise the bar. No matter your experience level, we have something for you!

Looking for a way to have some fun outside with your family or shelter group? Mount Hermon Adventures Sequoia Aerial Adventure Course is open this fall for you! We’ve worked closely with the County of Santa Cruz department of health to ensure that we’re compliant with all COVID-19 precautions and we’re excited to welcome you back to the redwoods. The Sequoia Aerial Adventure Course is our newer adventure experience and was intentionally designed as an inter-generational chall...enge course built high up in the redwood forest. With 30+ activities suspended between the trees there are challenges for every adventurer in your family. Our COVID-19 precautions include planning to keep our facilities, staff and guests safe. Outdoor activity, socially distanced, is one of the best ways to exercise and enjoy your family or shelter group. We have enhanced our cleaning procedures including washing of all our gear between uses and extensive cleaning and sanitizing of all staff and guest areas. We also provide each guest a new pair of gloves and both staff and guests complete a pre-tour health screening. We’re grateful that we’ve been able to serve guests and provide a retreat from the challenges of the past six months. While it may be some time before we’re able to welcome overnight guests so Mount Hermon we would love to host you for an adventure in the trees and we hope to see you in the redwoods this fall!

We are both grieved and grateful. The recent CZU Lightning Complex Fire ravaged these mountains, causing many residents, including our staff, to evacuate their homes. We are deeply saddened that so many lost homes, yet grateful for the firefighters and law enforcement who continue to protect and fight back the fires. Our area is now safe from the fire and has been re-populated. With no damage to our facilities (despite a bit of ash and charred leaves), we plan to reopen this weekend. To all those who had your reservations canceled: thank you for your adaptability and kindness in the midst of last week’s chaos. We hope to see you here whether this weekend or later on in the future!
