We wish a successful and happy journey to Jason and Nadav as they strive forward to a new chapter of their life. We also congratulate Avery and Kyle for graduating while they both continue to work at the Pro Shop. May you all achieve your dreams! Special thanks to Leslie and all of her hard work.
Players had a fantastic competitive rally as they gathered points for their teams (which had creative names such as Space Dogs and Strawberries). Often at the last day of each session, Coach Amber and Coach Ethan hold a mini team competition in which students perform all the skills they’ve practiced over the past few weeks including serves, forehands, backhands, directionals, ball depth, and dynamic footwork.

Here are the new orders put in place by the City of Mountain View - City Hall:
Here’s a view overlooking the tennis courts from the park where Pre-Rally and Rally 1 kids took a quick snack break. Keep an eye out for gophers and lizards running about!
Twilight hour, an image so beautiful it’s one of Ken’s favorite aspects of coaching at Mountain View Tennis. He enjoys the summer evenings where the students have fun in an environment that isn’t super hot nor cold. Ken strives to continuously improve himself, and then applies that knowledge to teach others. In all, his observant nature and easy communication makes him a well-rounded educator and a valuable member in our team!
In the first picture, Coach Lexie demonstrates a perfect alternating tap up at the start of the class! Meanwhile, the juniors warm up their bodies with a quick yet effective cardio workout.
Nadav is a staff member at Mountain View Tennis working at the front desk. You can enter the tennis center at Cuesta to check in for a court, purchase snacks and tennis balls, or register for a class. Fall classes are here, so sign up today at our website!
Great doubles play! Students had a nice scenery at Cuesta Park with the golden hour. Please remember to carry lots of water with you, especially on hot days. Registrations are still up!
Meet Coach Lexi! A fun game she recommends is Touch the Fence. Students would play in doubles and if one misses a shot, they would sprint to the fence in which their partner would then have to cover their part of the court. It is controlled chaos and always keeps players on their toes! Have a chance at playing this game by signing up for fall classes at mountainviewtennis.net.
Students from the evening adult class warm up with alternating tap ups. Fall adult classes are up on the website! We offer new morning classes on Tuesday, Thursday, Friday, and Saturday starting October 3rd.
NEW FALL CLASSES starting October 3rd! We are now providing more times and level options for both juniors and adults. To find more information or to sign up, check out mountainviewtennis.net! If you have questions, email [email protected].
With shoulders turned to the side and racket in a salute position, Thomas performs a strong first serve. He states that one of the most important part of a serve is the pronation. Four basic steps for a top spin serve: 1. Use a continental grip 2. Align shoulders and back foot to be parallel with the base line 3. Bring the racket back into a salute position 4. Toss the ball in which it should land at the back of your head... 5. Swing up and contact the ball See more
Meet Ethan, an exceptional coach at Mountain View Tennis. The combination of his loud voice, cheerful attitude, and optimistic outlook labels him as an energetic powerhouse. You can’t miss out on hearing his catchphrase: Turn tragic into magic.
You’re fast like a rocket!! It’s great to hear such enthusiastic cheers from everyone during this competitive race in the Pre-Rally class. Hope to see everyone back on the courts!
Meet Amber, currently a Rally 2 and Pre-Rally coach here at Mountain View Tennis. She’s always well prepared for the day, bringing all her contagious energy to the court. Her cheerful attitude and natural connection with students is what makes her not only an admirable coach, but also an admirable individual. She recalls how summer camps are so much fun, and all the kids always have such a good time. It’s cool because you get to make bonds with kids, and then whenever you leave it’s like ‘aw man’. We look forward to better air quality and resuming classes. Until then, stay safe!
