It was a grate achievement putting in our NEW, Mountain Valley Helicopter Landing Zone ( LZ65 ) tarmac. We had one more obstacle to overcome. The large rocks at the end of the landing pad. They could be dangerous to the Helicopters at anytime day or night. The rocks made it impossible to land at night, and they had to go. Work is in the process as you can see in the pictures. Once all rock pieces are removed and the top is levelled, pavement will finish off the tarmac. What an improvement this will make to our Landingpad and our Fire Station.

Tuesday, May 18th at 7pm was our Training Meeting at the Mountian Valley Station No. 3. Many thanks to CalFire with their classic red, fire truck 4373, to help us with our training. Its important that the new volunteers and even the well seasoned members have experience in feeding water from our Mountain Valley Water Tender trucks to the CalFire Trucks when on a fire deployment. If this sounds like fun to you, drop on by and sign up, you to could get started on a new path in helping out your community. And also, if you are thinking about a fire fighting career, this could get your feet wet, so to speak, without becoming overwhelmed. All one has to do is be at the MVFD Station by 7pm on the 1st Tuesday and the 3rd Tuesday of each month.

This year 2021, we are already now in the Wildland Fire Fighting Season. Please be careful when burning anything, and please be sure its a burn day at your location. Need a water tank? 2,500 to 3,000 gallon tanks MVFD is offering by a Donation of $900. per tank, and you haul. If you need it delivered there is a fee.
