A message from your Kern Valley Healthcare District

Mountain View Health Center 30.01.2021

Press Release For Immediate Release Lake Isabella, California January 28, 2021 As of today, we have vaccinated 398 employees, physicians and community membe...rs for the COVID-19 virus. Next week we will vaccinate 200 additional community members. We currently have enough vaccine to complete next week’s vaccinations and we have received reasonable assurance from Kern County that we will be supplied vaccine for second doses for everyone that we have started to vaccinate. Once we receive notice of our vaccine shipment, we will contact those who have left messages to schedule their appointment. Kern County is working diligently to supply us with this needed vaccine. For those qualified to receive the vaccination, you may continue to leave a message on our designated phone line (442) 320-3048 between Mondays Friday from 9:00am to 3:00pm. DO NOT CALL Kern Valley Hospital or Mountain View Health Center. We will not be scheduling any additional appointments for the next few days. We ask that you continue having patience and know you will receive a callback from us. We continue to identify issues causing some delays. Please leave a good contact phone number and name. Some messages are garbled please speak clearly and slowly. Make sure your voice-mail is set-up to receive messages. A bigger problem is many voicemails are telling us the mailbox is full and we are unable to leave a message. We have also heard some folks do not check their voicemails. We always leave a voicemail as long as the phone is set-up or the mailbox has space. It is only necessary to leave a message once. We are still experiencing a high call volume and expect that to continue for the near future. If your tier has not been released, we ask that you do not call the number listed above until the appropriate time. For additional information on the tier schedule go to https://kernpublichealth.com/covid-19-vaccine-schedule/. AGAIN, DO NOT CALL Kern Valley Hospital or Mountain View Health Center. The required paperwork is available at www.kvhd.org. We ask that you print the documents so you can fill them out prior to your appointment. If you do not have access to a printer or a computer, we will have the documents available at the time of your appointment. You will be required to show photo id and proof that you qualify for the vaccine in phase 1a Tiers 1, 2 or 3, as well as, Phase 1b Tier 1 We are using our mobile care unit to administer the vaccine. When you have made your appointment, we will advise you where the mobile unit will be set-up for the day. At the time of your arrival, please check in with staff at the mobile care unit. Keep in mind you will be required to stay an additional 15 minutes after receiving the vaccination to make sure you do not have any adverse reaction. If you are unable to make your appointment, it is imperative that you notify us AS SOON AS POSSIBLE so we can schedule someone else. BE PREPARED FOR YOUR APPOINTMENT: Bring photo id and proof you are eligible for Phase 1 Tiers, 1, 2, or 3 and Phase 1b Tier 1. Bring a copy of your insurance card (There is no co-pay or out of pocket expense). Bring completed documentation or arrive 15 minutes early to complete required paperwork. Wear a facemask and follow social distancing guideline. Be prepared to wait an additional 15 minutes after receiving your vaccine. Keep in mind it takes several days before the vaccine is effective and to receive the full benefit you must return in the designated timeframe for a second inoculation. To keep yourself, loved ones and friends safe we ask that you continue to wear a facemask in public, practice social distancing, wash your hands often and avoid touching your face. ### For more information, contact Deborah Hess at 760-379-5257 ext. 4 or email [email protected]

Kern Valley Healthcare District will play an instrumental role in vaccinating the community against COVID-19. The vaccine is a 2 dose series with the shots occ...urring 28 days apart. We are working closely with the county to accomplish the goal of immunizing the community. When the vaccine is allocated to us for use in the community, we will set up vaccination sites around the valley.
