June 5th- Learn how the drive chain and gearing work on your motorcycle how to adjust your chain tension, inspect the chain and sprockets for wear, and replace them. This is also handy if you want to change your current sprockets to get more umph or create a more comfortable highway RPM for commuting. You will learn to use a chain tool to break the old chain, to remove and install your rear wheel and sprocket, remove and replace your front sprocket, install the new chain an...d set the master link, and finally adjust the chain to proper tension. If you don’t know if your motorcycle is ready for a new chain or sprockets stop by the shop and we can check and let you know. No previous tool handling or motorcycle repair knowledge is required before taking this workshop. If you only want to learn the basics of how to adjust, clean, and lube your chain you should sign up for our Intro to Maintenance first. According to section 13.f.vii (Gas stations and auto-supply, auto-repair [including motorcycles]) of San Francisco’s Order of The Health Officer No. C19-07b "Shelter in Place", dated 03/31/2020, Moto Guild is classified as an Essential Business 6 FOOT "SOCIAL DISTANCING" REQUIREMENTS are easy to keep at Moto Guild. Classes have been limited to three people at most, and every other workstation has been closed. The open workstations are disinfected after each use, and the bathroom and tables are disinfected everyday- but bring your own snacks, as the microwave and all food have been removed

Sign up for our Engine Rebuild Class Next Weekend! Learn how to rebuild a modern motorcycle engine- In this class you will thoroughly go through the entire engine including theory, discussion, and hands on work. This class will be performed using three Kawasaki Ninja 250 engines. In groups of 2 to 3, each team will be assigned an engine, given a work space, all necessary tools, and instruction manuals. Each team will be guided by a professional mechanic to ensure all the ste...ps are done correctly. In the allocated time, tear down the engine, then reassemble and bench-start. All of our workshops have a low teacher to student ratio and encouraging mechanics to guide you so you will be fixing you bike yourself, even in our introductory class. When you are ready to jump in and rent a station to do it alone, there is always someone konwledgeable available to answer questions, or schedule a 1:1 appointment if you think you will need a lot of help.
