Why did the elephant seal cross the beach? To get to its ocean home of course! Northern elephant seals spend the majority of their lives in their ocean home ...and haul out onto land only twice a year. When these marine mammals come ashore during the winter months they do some very important things that are vital to their survival like breed, give birth, and rest. Like all wildlife, they do not like being disturbed while trying to do their thang!
