Malki Road Onramp Closure Caltrans announced that in the interest of public safety, it is closing the Malki Road onramp onto WESTBOUND Interstate 10 from... Tuesday, June 1 until Saturday, June 12 for a large construction project at the nearby truck scales and CHP inspection station. Reservation residents and visitors seeking to head west on I-10 should either take Seminole Drive to Morongo Trail, where they can use the westbound I-10 onramp to enter the freeway, or use the Morongo Road/Hathaway Street gate to access the westbound freeway at Hargrave Street.
We bid a fond farewell to Fire Chief Kevin Gaines, who led the Morongo Fire Department in its mission to protect lives and property across our reservation, the San Gorgonio Pass and the state for six years. Chief Gaines spent 40 years in the fire service, and we wish him a long and happy retirement! https://patch.com//after-40-years-firefighting-service-mor
Congratulations to Deb Haaland on her historic confirmation as Secretary of the Interior. As the first Native American ever confirmed as a Cabinet secretary, you are an inspiration to Indian Country. #DebHaaland https://indiancountrytoday.com//madam-secretary-deb-haaland
Spare change adds up to a big boost for local kids and families! Thanks to the generosity of our guests, Morongo presented a $128,643 check to the Boys and Girls Clubs of the San Gorgonio Pass. To help alleviate a nationwide shortage of coins, Morongo launched a program in July offering our casino guests the opportunity to donate the spare change from their winnings to help others --- and thousands did!!... Thanks to all of our guests for supporting families and children across The Pass during these challenging times!
The ultimate Interstate 10 pit stop is about to get better!!! Construction is underway on a second Morongo Travel Center, complete with a 32-pump discount gas station, dog park, car wash, slot machines, convenience store and other amenities.
