"Many types of businesses have similar dysfunctional leadership behaviors and business practices. Those situations have left many turned off completely and thinking, Well, if that’s how I need to be in order to be successful then I’m out. I don’t want to be like them. These same words are voiced time and again over the years by both men and women. They opt out. However, what if the situation could be reframed? What if there was a way to see this as a course correction? Or even see this as a learning experience which delves into the real fear of a human being living in this imperfect world?" http://www.forbes.com//02/is-opting-out-a-choice-youd-make/

"Transformation unfolds and is given structure by a consciousness of the whole. The task of transformation is to operate so that what we create grows organically, more concerned with the "quality of aliveness" that gives us the experience of wholeness than with a predictable destination and the speed with which we can reach it." -- Peter Block paraphrasing Christopher Alexander in Community: The structure of belonging.

A new blog post based on my experiences at the Wisdom 2.0 conference. Is Wisdom 2.0 caught up in the corporate world's quest for more profits or can they be a voice for evolution and change? http://moreful.ly/bl/2014/2//wisdom-20-profits-or-prophets

Came across this poem recently and wanted to share it. My friends, let’s grow up. Let’s stop pretending we don’t know the deal here. Or if we truly haven’t noticed, let’s wake up and notice.... Look: Everything that can be lost, will be lost. It’s simple how could we have missed it for so long? Let’s grieve our losses fully, like ripe human beings, But please, let’s not be so shocked by them. Let’s not act so betrayed, As though life had broken her secret promise to us. Impermanence is life’s only promise to us, And she keeps it with ruthless impeccability. To a child she seems cruel, but she is only wild, And her compassion exquisitely precise: Brilliantly penetrating, luminous with truth, She strips away the unreal to show us the real. This is the true ride let’s give ourselves to it! Let’s stop making deals for a safe passage: There isn’t one anyway, and the cost is too high. We are not children anymore. The true human adult gives everything for what cannot be lost. Let’s dance the wild dance of no hope! -- Jennifer Welwood. more here: http://jenniferwelwood.com/poetry/

While the piece does fall into broad generalization of an entire generation it also offers some hopeful optimism and begins a very useful inquiry into the difference between a happy life and a meaningful one. http://www.nytimes.com//o/sunday/millennial-searchers.html
