It was a difficult and crazy year but we all got through it together! We are grateful that we were able to still be there for you and your pets throughout the year and even more grateful to you, our clients, for hanging in there during all of the unexpected changes and challenges that 2020 faced us with! We hope everyone has a very happy and safe New Year’s Eve

Due to our COVID-19 circumstances we have changed some hours for the next few days. Please note we may need to make further changes. Thank you again for your understanding and flexibility.

Our hospital is closing at 2 PM today due to unforeseen circumstances due to COVID-19. If you had an appointment you will be contacted to reschedule. We expect to be open with a limited staff and schedule for the rest of the week, but will be rescheduling wellness appointments and elective surgeries due to our reduced staff. Please check back for any updates. Thank you for your patience and understanding. During this time we will be actively monitoring Facebook Messenger during normal business hours and can respond to any questions or concerns you may have.

As a Cat Friendly Practice, it's important for us to help minimize any stress surrounding veterinary visits for your cats. To do this, we have a cat only exam room as well as cat only treatment ward, away from dogs and any other animals. Our cat only exam room is equipped with a towel warmer, a large window to look out of as well as a Feliway diffuser that release calming pheromones to create a safe environment for your cat. #CatFriendlyPractice

October 21st is National Reptile Awareness Day! Not only a day for reptile lovers but also a day to promote education and conservation for reptiles everywhere. In honor of today, we'd like to introduce you to Gammera, an African Spurred Sulcata Tortoise, owned by our very own veterinary assistant, Jenn! These tortoises are commonly referred to as sulcatas and originate from the deserts of Africa, typically near the southern edge of the Sahara Desert. #ReptileAwarenessDay

Today is National Boss's Day and we want to take a moment to recognize these two amazing women, our Practice Owner, Dr. Barrett, as well as our Practice Manager, April! They are both incredible leaders and always there for our staff when we need them. They truly are the glue that holds our team together each and every day, especially during this trying year! Thank you both for being the incredible women that you are! Happy National Boss's Day!

Here is a fun throwback video we recorded two years ago of our Lead RVT, Libby! Libby became a Registered Veterinary Technician after completing an AS degree in Veterinary Technology from Pierce College and passing board examinations. Libby has been practicing as an RVT for 13 years which is the same amount of time she has been with us at Moorpark Vet! When Libby is not carrying out her role as Super Tech, she enjoys horseback riding, going to the movies, hiking, as well as spending time with her family and son Bryson. #vettechweek

Meet our next RVT, Tom! Tom received his Animal Science degree from Pierce College and has maintained his status as a Registered Veterinary Technician for over four decades! Tom specializes in anesthetic dental procedures here and happily shares his wisdom and knowledge with his coworkers. We hired Tom 12 years ago to help out during National Pet Dental Health Month and we are so grateful that he decided to stick around ever since! We aren't sure if he knows this but... he's stuck with us for good

Meet Darcy! Another one of our awesome RVT's who just celebrated her 1 year work-iversary here at Moorpark Vet! Darcy has been practicing as an Registered Veterinary Technician for 4 years now but has worked in the veterinary field for roughly 20 years! Darcy has incredible technical skill mixed with a strong compassion and commitment for helping animals. Her own furry family includes her French Bulldog, Kenzie, and her chocolate lab, Copper! #nationalvettechweek
