Gia was the pony and baby horse whisperer this morning. The first group of riders got through before the rain came, but the second group got rained on. Thankful for some rain!

I never get tired of the after the lesson shots.

The wind died down enough that at least the wooden jumps stayed up long enough for a jump lesson.

Perfeito can be the most docile creature and he can also be a wild man. He will be fun to work with. He will be two in April. He won’t be started until he is three, but we will start putting a saddle on him sometime in the spring.

Our groups have been doing some trotting out and about for fitness, including up and down hills when the ground isn’t slippery.

#obsessed Who else likes difficult horses? Who else gets obsessed with a horses that are major training projects? I haven’t been able to get this mare out of my mind since the day I saw her. Who knows when or if I will ever ride her.

Another horse camping trip is safely in the books. Lisa and I went just the two of us, to get away and have some downtime. It was the first time Lisa has taken Kate camping and I even took Estrela, along with Weston. There was lots of just sitting and relaxing, bonding with our horses, hand walking, groundwork, and yes we did also ride.

Weekend riding fun

It’s hard to pay attention to horses for sale when there are feisty kitties as cute as this. Going with Hana and Willow to look at a couple horses today. Lots of people at our barn in the horse market right now. Who knows if a perfect pony for sale for Willow?

Happy fail Friday. Pippa says she doesn’t want that big, white powdered donut too close to her.

When you have a pony that is still getting straightened out after being diagnosed with Cushing’s and insulin resistance, you stick the smallest kid on a big fat horse. Check out Willow figuring it out! Also, can we just all agree that Jackie is a pro at toting people around? Gunpowder was acting like a complete kook, so we were in the small covered arena to contain any craziness. Not sure what has gotten into him lately. Thankfully, he behaved himself.
