We’ve been making Dungeness crab cakes at the retail store these days. Bris makes them and they are delicious and simple. You can just toss them in a pan with a bit of oil until they are nice and crispy and crunchy and golden brown. We also have a house-made tartar sauce that is great to dip them in.

Last landing of local king salmon today. There will be a closure for two weeks. We will have a good supply through the weekend, thanks to the Billie Kaye, Captain Mark Morris and his twin children!

Fisherman Josh Churchman dropped off some pristine local rock cod and black cod at the wharf today. You can often times tell how fresh fish are by the clearness of their eyes. Josh’s book The Whale that Lit the World is for sale at our retail store!

Fresh squid this morning from Monterey. The sardines are bycatch from the squid nets. Both are excellent! @ Pier 33 Embarcadero

Waking up to texts like... We are all safe but bummed. Thank you to the 144 fire fighters working hard right now @sffdlocal798 Although we mostly work out of 33 we also have a warehouse and unload boats on 45. We hope our neighbors @water2table @alohaseafoodsf @2byc @absseafood + the many other businesses who have been around for decades are all doing ok.

After a short closure CA King Salmon season is back open! Here is Carlos our floor manager with one of the CA Kings caught by FV King Slammin. Only 25 lbs available and all of it is going to the retail store. More soon! @ Pier 33 Embarcadero

Coming this week to our box: Local Halibut caught by our small boat boys- Cau, Ryan and Wade. We push to Ft. Bragg for petrale sole and rockfish from the Fishing Vessels Miss Kelley II and the Jess Anne. We have a little blow of wind and are timing landings to Friday for the Saturday pick up at our Pier 33 location. Of course the pick up will be contact free. We appreciate your support as we strive to get the best seafood on your plate during these difficult times. Supply chains and fishing effort are greatly affected and a 'best of catch' model will ensure the quality. Pick up at Pier 33. More pick up locations around the Bay Area are in the works!

Around the same time the Bay Area was ordered to shelter in place our commissioned David Lance Goines posters were finished. It seemed clear to us that selling the posters as a fundraiser to benefit our furloughed employees was the best thing to do. 100% of funds will go directly to them.
