On Saturday we observed the 3-year anniversary of the devastating Debris Flow in Montecito which claimed 23 lives, destroyed hundreds of homes and displaced tens of thousands of people in our community. Our resiliency was tested and we met that test, coming together to keep each other fed, clothed, sheltered and comforted. More than 1,250 firefighters from California and other states, along with the California Conservation Corps, the California National Guard, the Sheriff’s D...epartment and the California Highway Patrol assisted in search and rescue and securing the community. We were proud to feed many of these brave men and women throughout the incident. ‘Climacito’ is one of many documentaries that highlight our community’s determination and strength in the face of fire and flood. While filming, we reunited with many of the first responders who had come to us for food in January 2018.
