Hi Everybody! Finally, after 12 years, we’ve designed a cool Culinary t-shirt! This will certainly be a collector’s item! It will be a BLACK t-shirt with this logo (see below) on the BACK. (MVHS graduate Aubrey Williams ’10, designed this for us! She is graduating from the Art Academy SF. Specializing in animation!) The front will have the same text as the Chef Mustang’s jacket! For those of you who are unfamiliar with the term Mise, i...t’s short for Mise en Place. This is culinary French for Everything in it’s place! Mise en place is your tray of ingredients that have been measured out in separate containers BEFORE you start to cook your recipe. This is the professional and organized way to cook! Everything revolves around your mise. If you don’t have your mise, you cannot cook the recipe in a timely and organized manner, which will lead to frustration and inefficiency. Not optimum in a professional kitchen. If you would like to buy a t-shirt, they are $20. Just respond with an email Chef Kellie with your SIZE and she will order it for you! Hello Culinary Parents and Students! 2nd Annual Diablo Valley College Summer Culinary Camp! It's a FREE week long Summer Culinary Camp on July 16-20! They are only allowing 30 teen students, under 18 yrs old, from across the Bay Area! First come, first serve for the application process! Please DO NOT contact Chef Kellie for info. She is not affiliated with this program, but she supports it! Application packets for camp can be obtained by emailing JUDY MOON at [email protected] . The week will be awesome and amazing as the students explore careers, techniques, new ideas and great food. Six outstanding high school culinary teachers and six DVC Student Chefs will join in collaborative efforts to facilitate the camp in partnership with the Contra Costa County ROP, Big Pig BBQ, The PG&E Food Technology Center, Rogers Ranch, Concord Hilton, Concord Crowne Plaza and Walnut Creek Whole Foods.
