Albert Monroe Magnet Middle School

A group of Woodworth-Monroe students who contributed to Inglewood's Clean Air Day were invited to City Hall this week for a gala: recognition, food, pix with the Mayor, and on-camera news interviews. We say, 'Yes!' from City Hall: The City of Inglewood is proud to declare October 03, 2018 as Clean Air Day. Through partnerships with Southern California Edison the Coalition for Clean Air, IUSD, Social Justice Learning Institute, and all of our community partners who've taken the pledge, we're all moving toward a cleaner, more sustainable, Inglewood.

It is always a pleasure to visit Loyola Marymount University with our AVID and MESA students, arranged and led by our wonderful AVID tutors who are also LMU students themselves. Our students should always be exposed to what higher education looks and feels like, and especially by college students from similar backgrounds who have found their calling. Always ask for help, they tell us, and don't worry if you aren't sure what you want to become (yet) ... you'll find your path. There is something for everybody's interests.

Inglewood Unified staff members were all back on their campuses today, getting ready for MONDAY. Things got started with an All-District rally at Morningside High School ... Ain't No Stopping' Us Now, We're On The Move!!

It used to be a ... locker room? But in 10 years, this writer never saw the inside of it. Now it's a pile of twisted junk, and soon to be gone. Gone like the old 6th grade bungalows. Things are happening! The DEstruction will lead to CONstruction. Stay tuned!

Well, you don't see THAT everyday! Lot's of fixes and changes coming to campus over the Summer and into the Fall. See you on opening day, one month from today: August 20.

In a little over 90 minutes, we walked 170 8th-graders (oh, pardon me, incoming high school freshman!) across the stage at Morningside High School in the Monroe Middle School Promotion Ceremony. Lots of flowers, balloons, red caps & gowns, and a whole lot of cheering. The Class of 2018 has been put to bed. Best of Luck and Carry On ... you'll always be Mariners!!

It's never too early to begin conceptualizing that big step in life.
