Working from dictated tapes Preparation of pleadings, correspondence and memoranda Drafting legal documents when requested, including petitions and motions Filing case documents in an organized manner for easy access Communicating with potential clients or other attorney's offices via email, over the phone, or in person Sending faxes and making copies of legal documents Occasional trial preparation including document organization, motions, trial binder, and exhibits Managing office supplies and ordering replacements when required Candidates for the Legal Secretary position must have: Probate and Trust Administration law firm experience Dictation tapes transcription experience High-level organization Interpersonal skills that allow you to communicate effectively with clients, lawyers, and other law firms Written communication skills Strong ethics, as you will be often trusted to handle sensitive documents and to comply with relevant privacy laws when creating documents or sharing information Attention to detail Technological skills, especially basic computer literacy Pay: DOE plus discretionary bi-annual bonuses, paid commuter expenses and fully paid premiums for excellent health and dental insurance.
