We are looking to open these seats back up to you. Opening indoor dining (including the bar) on Friday Feb 11th - just in time for #SFBeerWeek and the #SuperBowl (We are currently outdoor & takeout only at the moment) Look for updates next week on our Beer Week events. Cheers
As of yesterday, the Monk’s Kettle SF is outdoor & takeout only. We have closed indoor dining until we are past this surge and it’s safe to do so. Last year, we constructed six parklets to add to our existing sidewalk seating. And it’s a true Nor Cal winter we are having, but these lighted heated shelters are available for reservations. We wish you all good health and fortune in the New Year. Stay safe.
Chef Raiden continues to blow our minds. Here’s a new addition to the menu: Roasted Mackerel Sandwich with little gems, frisée, pickled peppers & onions, sliced tomato, buttermilk ranch on torpedo bun Holy moly, that’s good Open through Thursday (closed Christmas Eve & Day)
Look what returned to our menu recentlyScotch Egg! Soft boiled egg encased in lamb merguez and deep fried. And every bit as good as it sounds. Happy Weekend (and Holiday break!)
Chef Raiden has updated the lamb burger, pictured here with a side of (magical) Kale Salad. House ground lamb with tahini dill lebne, cucumber, pickled onion and tomato on a Kaiser roll. And a whole lotta goodness.
Perfect for this weather, perfect for the season, we just added these vintage items from @thebruery to our bottle list. Original releases (2013-2018 vintages). Happy Sunday evening, all.
Yes it’s crazy that we’re already here but indeed it’s time to think about New Year’s Eve. And we are happy to announce that we are bringing back the all-you-can-eat-and-drink format this year. We will have an open draft list of beer, wine and cider while Chef will prepare an evening of heavy passed apps and small plates throughout the night. $100 all-inclusive ticket for this 8pm-12:30 soirée. Tickets are available through our reservation page on Tock (hit the Reserve button). What a time to be alive, eh?
Note that we will open again tonight at 5pm (closed for lunch today so our staff could recover after a lovely staff holiday party last night) And also note that Chef Raiden has rolled out new desserts: - Black sesame Trappist Pudding (made with St Bernardus Abt 12) - Nitro Float (made in this case with Shacksbury Dry Cider, but the base will rotate between cider and beer)... Cheers to sweet endings
It’s remarkable how many of these Larder Boards we sell to go. Well played, all, well played. Have a great and safe weekend
Check out this article by Grace Li from Sfweekly that features our recent decision not to open indoor dining: https://www.sfweekly.com//not-all-sf-restaurateurs-sold-o/
Why the Monk’s Kettle Will Not Participate in Indoor Dining And how you can help the industry Last week, San Francisco opened the way for restaurants to begin indoor dining. We did not and will not participate, a decision we made months ago, but know all too well why this (literally) dreadful decision is being made by others. ...Continue reading

Tomorrow, Thurs Sept 17th, we host this last cellar sale. Starts at 10am on the Store on our website: https://www.monkskettle.com/store/
To mark 6 months of Shelter in Place, we thought we would do one last cellar sale. We will be hosting the sale this Thurs, Sept 17 at 10am on our website (we will put the link in our bio). We will be releasing all sorts of beers meant to be sold together, like verticals, brewery features and other such pairings. Hope you all are staying safe, sane and breathing some good air.
We wanted to wish our friend Amelia Franklin well on her next endeavor. Amelia has been with @laughingmonkbrewing for years, ushering them from a startup brewery to the success it is today, and so it is right they honor her with this beer that is on our list right now. Amelia is headed overseas and though we are sad to see her go, we wish her all the best. Cheers.
This poem has been up on our chalk for months and it only seems appropriate to post it tonight. Today is the 6th anniversary of Eric Garner’s death at the hands of a police officer. But also, with great sadness, we hear tonight that the great John Lewis has passed away. It as this poem reminds us, our legacy lives on. Rest in Power.
We will be open tomorrow from 12 noon to 9pm (closing an hour early) for outdoor dining, takeout and delivery. Please visit our website to make a reservation or order directly for takeout. Happy 4th to you all.
