I am so humbled to be nominated by the community as a "Women Leader" in Yorba Linda Lifestyle Magazine. When we opened our restaurant in Yorba Linda we didn't know much about the city but now we love everything about especially the people. While we were doing construction to the restaurant we had families stopping by to check on the progress every week. Since the day we opened the community has been nothing but welcoming and loving to our family. The first few years while we... were dealing with the stress of a new business and thieves so many people from the community reached out to give us support. There were so many times that I felt overwhelmed and wanted to give up but then someone would give me a hug or tell me how much they loved the food and that love and support just kept me going. We stopped by Firestation 32 last night to feed the amazing heros who saved our restaurant the day before. My wife and I used our life savings and opened this restaurant 4 1/2 years ago. As with all businesses, the first 3 years were extremely stressful. Besides the hardships of starting a new business, we also dealt with vandalism, 3 break ins and ofcourse the pandemic. By the grace of God we were able to survive all that and almost lost everything to a fire on Wednesday. I...t was the actions of our neighbors and the amazing fire fighters who saved our restaurant. On Wednesday morning while we were closed, our cook was here prepping food, he was slow cooking the oxtail and forgot to turn down the flame before he stepped out to run errands. All the oxtail burned and started smoldering in the pot. Luckily one of our neighbors saw the heavy smoke and called the Fire Department. The firemen was able to pry open our door without breaking the glass. They were also able to put out the pot fire without using the fire extinguishers. When I got the phone call that the restaurant was on fire I was thinking the worse. But thank God there was no fire damage. The fire sprinklers could have gone off and damaged our restaurant. The firemen could have broken our door which have cost alot of money to replace. If they used the fire extingishers we would have been required to shut down for several weeks because of toxic chemicals. We stopped by last night to thank them and drop off some food. The firemen were very thankful for the food and said it was unnecessary since they were only doing their job. But we disagree, they could have simply broken our glass or door and used the fire extinguishers but they went far beyond their job duty and put out the fire without damaging our restaurant. There are thousands of firemen and police officers who do things like this everyday and don't get enough credit for their heroic actions. News travels fast in Yorba Linda and Anaheim Hills We got several messages and calls yesterday and had so many people stop by today to make sure the restaurant didn't burn down. Apparently some people saw smoke coming from the restaurant and a fire truck out side and may have thought the restaurant was on fire. We want to thank everyone for your concern thank God no one hurt and there was no fire damage. We were closed yesterday and our cook was slow cooking our oxtail ...early in the morning and had the flame too high, he stepped out to run errands and the oxtail got burned and caused a lot of smoke. Thank you so much Yorba Linda Fire Department for responding so quickly! they were able to make entry into my restaurant without breaking the glass and we cant thank you enough. Luckily the sprinklers weren't activated. There were no flames so the fire fighters didn't need to use their extinguishers or any fire retardant which can be toxic and wouldve required us to shut down for several days for clean up. They just brought the pot out of the restaurant prevent any more smoking inside. We have spent all day wiping down the entire restaurant. The Health Department already came by yesterday to inspect and cleared us to open today Again thank you everyone for your concern and we look forward to feeding you. See more

We wanted to explain why we have decided to leave our outdoor dining open. This is not a political statement it is simply to keep our restaurant open and our employees working and paid. Since the pandemic we have followed all guidelines, however this new rule of no outdoor dining without any scientific proof that it's a cause of spreading the virus is unfair. Our little restaurant can't allow our customers to eat outside but costco down the street has a maximum capacity of 80...0 people INSIDE the store at a time. On top of losing 50% of our revenue since the pandemic we have had a plethora of challenges working against us; food costs have gone up, we have incurred extra expenses on PPE, patio and outdoor dining. As less people are dining out and ordering take out, 3rd party delivery companies like Uber Eats, Door Dash, etc are thriving on the backs of restaurants These delivery companies take 30% from us and this is non negotiable, and if that wasn't enough our landlord is charging us RENT for each parking spot we are taking up for our outdoor dining! But despite all this we showed up and we did what we had to do to survive.Operating a restaurant is hard enough but with all these factors it is nearly impossible now. Our customers have overwhelmingly encouraged us to leave our outdoor patio open. We hope that those that disagree with this decision understand where we are coming from. There are people on social media who think it's ok to talk down on business owners who have kept their patio open. Some go as far as saying we don't care about covid patients or healthcare workers. This couldn't be further from the truth for us. We have a lot of regular customers who are healthcare workers. Since the pandemic we have donated hundreds of meals to doctors, nurses and health care workers to several hospitals throughout Orange County. We take the virus very seriously and have strict safety protocols to keep everything clean and sanitized. We want to thank each and everyone one of our customers who have supported us especially during the pandemic.
