We just want to thank everyone that has brought by toys, & gift cards for our Christmas collection to benefit the Lemus family this holiday season. Silvia &... her six kiddos lost their husband, father, & friend in the early months of the year to COVID. We could not think of a more deserving mother & family to help get through the holidays with some extra joy & gifts for all of them. We plan to deliver our gifts next Monday December 21st. If you can or want to help make this Christmas a little more special, we will be collecting new/unwrapped items at the practice today & next Monday. Each year, especially around the holidays, we try to brighten a family’s Christmas with a toy drive. 2020 has been hard on all of us, to say the least, but it has been truly heartbreaking for one of Doc & Jess’s friends, Silvia & her family. Doc & Jess met Silvia as a barista at the Hyatt. Silvia is one of the most kind & thoughtful individuals we have ever met. Always wearing a smile, mentioned Jess. In April, Silvia & her husband both contracted Covid. "I saw him st...ruggling to breathe. He went through so much, so much," said Silvia. She recovered quickly but Luis was put on a ventilator in a hospital's intensive care unit. He fought for 63 days. Luis passed away on June 30th leaving Silvia and their six children behind. We want to do our part this year by spreading a little cheer to Silvia’s family by collecting toys, & other gifts at the practice. Featured Smile Of The Week Sometimes porcelain restorations are utilized to not only improve the aesthetics of a smile but to also correct a patient’s bite. This patient came to our practice with existing upper 4 crowns temporarily cemented for over 4 months with extreme jaw pain. When his previous dentist went to seat his crowns permanently, he disliked the shape, size, & overall appearance of the crowns. His dentist agreed to cement them with temporary cement until the... patient was ready to move forward with cementing them permanently. According to his previous dentist, it was the best he was going to get. Very confused, this patient started to visit other dentists for guidance & direction. During his consultation with Dr. Friedman, the patient mentioned he asked his previous dentist for upper 4 crowns to improve his smile figuring it would also help his deep bite and slow the wearing on his lower teeth. Dr. Friedman analyzed his bite, jaw joints, existing restorations, & overall dental health.
