Hello MGSL Players, Parents, Families, and coaches. We would like to thank all our incredible MGSL families for all your support, patience and gratitude over the last several months during this pandemic we are all going through. We hope everyone is staying safe. Our last in-person MGSL 2020 season partial refund day will be Thursday, October 15th from 5:30pm to 6:30pm at Orchard Park in Modesto.... Each 2020 Registered MGSL player will receive a $70 partial refund. Also any player that registered for fundraising will receive both their Jamba Juice card and Mountain Mikes Card. Due to the current Covid-19 statewide orders please follow safe social distancing guidelines, mask requirements, and safety protocols. Please bring the following to receive your partial refund and items: Valid Photo ID of parent/family member who registered player Proof of registration (printed email receipt or phone screen shot) Due to our limited MGSL board member staff, please limit the amount of each household that arrives for the refund to prevent an unsafe social distancing environment. We would like to thank all our incredible MGSL families for all your support over the last several months during this pandemic we are all going through. After our MGSL board decided that we were unable to finish the 2020 MGSL season, we have been working on a partial refund amount and date for the refund pick up. Our board voted and agreed on a partial refund of $70 to each registered player. Also any player that registered for fundraising will receive both their Jamba Juic...e card and Mountain Mikes Card. We had a target date of August 1st for the refund pick up day, but due to the current Covid-19 statewide orders to continue social distancing and our very limited MGSL board volunteers, we are forced to work on a new date sometime in late August to allow more time for our state and county to be safe. Thank you for your patience. The refund day will be an in person pickup and will go by division. We will also setup block times to help with social distancing and safety. More details on that soon. Please understand that many expenses were incurred before the season began. Every MGSL season starts from August to August, so a lot of pre-purchases were done in order to have a season. With this partial refund, this will put a financial strain on the league and we will be discussing options and ways to bring the league out of this situation. As a 100% volunteered non-profit we are trying our best to navigate through this. Some of our coaches and parents have already emailed us that they would like to donate the money to our league. After multiple meetings and discussions, the MGSL board has decided that we are unable to continue the 2020 MGSL season. We know this is not what any of us wanted to hear, but under the circumstances, we feel it is the best thing & safest thing to do. Please understand that many expenses were incurred before the season began. Every MGSL... season starts from August to August, so a lot of pre-purchases are done in order to have a season. Due to these expenses, you will receive a partial refund. Because of our limited MGSL Board staff we have available, We will have a pick up your refund/fundraising day sometime in July. MGSL Season Update 5/13/2020 MGSL Players, Parents & Coaches, As of today, 5/13/2020, the MGSL board has met and continues to review this fluid situation we are all in during the Covid-19 Pandemic. We have been in communication with the City of Modesto, our insurance provider and many other sports organizations, both local, state, and national to get a better perspective on our situation.... As of right now we have not canceled the MGSL 2020 Season and would still like to have an opportunity for our girls to play. But with the current social distancing guidelines from the state, It is virtually impossible to play the game of softball as of now. The MGSL board will have a final decision in the next few weeks and will update you as soon as possible. If we decide to cancel the 2020 MGSL Season, we will work on a partial refund for our parents and families to receive. As well as a safe distribution plan for the fundraising items. MGSL Update: 4/5/20 Thank you again for your patience and positivity as we all move through this period of time together. We hope your family has been able to find activities to keep you connected, and that everyone is remaining in good health. At this time, the MGSL board has decided that it is best to continue postponing our season to at least early May. Stanislaus County is currently in a Stay at Home order, and we must abide by this order. Our intent is to have a season..., but we can’t make any guarantees since this situation is fluid and changing daily. We will continue to monitor, evaluate, and keep you as updated as possible. Thank you for your patience and understanding. In preparing for continuing the season, a majority of the expenses we incur are spent before anyone sets foot on a softball field, so we’d really like to get make sure we have a softball season. We are a nonprofit organization and every season is funded by every registered player. Our continued thoughts and prayers are with your family. We hope to see you on the softball field soon. MGSL Players, Coaches, Parents & Families: The City of Modesto has made the decision to close all our facilities, parks, ballfields and complex’s until at least April 6th. All MGSL related activities are on hold until further notice.... This includes all practices, games, photo day, opening ceremonies and season related events. With this being an evolving situation, we will continue to monitor and consult with the public health department guidance and the city of modesto. We hope to have more info for you soon. MGSL Players, Coaches, Parents & Families: After reviewing the updated guidance from the State of California, and the various county public health departments in Northern California regarding COVID-19, MGSL will be postponing the season till at least March 28th or further notice effective immediately. This includes all practices, games, photo day, opening ceremonies and season related events. With this being an evolving situation, we will continue to monitor and consult with ...the public health department guidance and the city of modesto. We have contacted the City of Modesto Parks & Recreation Department concerning fields, games & our upcoming opening weekend. We will up date you with any changes or cancellations as soon as possible. The girls safety is always our number 1 priority. As a reminder, to help prevent the spread of the flu or any viruses, plea...se continue to practice good hygiene including washing your hands for 20 seconds or using hand sanitizer; avoiding touching your eyes, nose, and mouth; and when sneezing or coughing, be sure to cover your mouth by using a tissue, fist bump or elbow during practices and games, And if you are sick, please stay home. It's finally here.. 2020 MGSL Opening Day Ceremonies Weekend! The Weather report app is saying clear skies just in time for our 1st games of the season! Coaches have all the information regarding uniforms.... Remember, 6U and 8U divisions receive shorts. 10U, 12U and 15U players are to purchase their own pair of black softball pants. This years opening ceremonies will take place at Beyer Park in Modesto this Saturday. We will start promptly at 9am. Have your kids there early.. especially if you have photos to take! We should be done with ceremonies by 9:30... Bring Your Team Banners to represent. We will have music, raffle giveaways for coaches, players and parents! Did someone say DISNEYLAND TICKETS? MGSL Team Photo day is this Saturday, March 14th. There will NOT be any makeups, so this will be the only opportunity to take pictures for the 2020 season.
