Our current model kit sale (50% off as previously posted) is now expanded to include all pre built and finished military vehicles and diecast cars. We also have a great number of 1/6 scale military collectible action figures that are now also 50% off. Many of these were purchased via estate sales and are very rare, (discontinued or the company that produced them is out of business) so have value far above the final out the door price. A creative enterprising person could ...resell them at a good profit! Frankly, we need the space and just don't have the time to list them as we are still working on putting the new store together. Now, this won't last forever at which point the sale will be over and we will start listing them via eBay so get them while you can! Sale prices are off the lowest tagged price and are taken at the register. Sorry but no other discounts apply.

Tomorrow is the 2nd Friday of the month and that means it is the "build night" meeting of the local model club, the San Joaquin Valley Scale Modelers - "The Tomcats" at 7:00 PM right here at Modesto Hobby! If you are interested in scale models stop by and check it out to see how others approach the various aspects of the hobby through different tools, products and techniques. Better yet bring your current project and share your skills and techniques. Remember there is streng...th in numbers and this is especially true in this hobby as more members equals more knowledge. The club membership is diverse in terms of age, skill level and the subject matter they model including aircraft, automotive, ships, military vehicles and science fiction. So no matter what types of models you are in to or your skill level you will find support and fellowship. It is also a great way to meet like minded enthusiasts where lasting friendships are made. A quick note to let all of our customers who may see this that we will be closed on Labor Day to give the staff a well deserved day off to spend time with their families. We sincerely hope everybody who has the day off is able to enjoy it by relaxing and indulging with your favorite fun and enjoyable hobby. However if something does go wrong we will be open at 10:00 AM with regular store hours on Tuesday to meet your hobby needs.

To our scale model building friends we will be hosting the monthly build night meeting of our local model building club the San Joaquin Valley Scale Modelers - "The Tomcats" tonight. If you enjoy models or know somebody who does please let them know. It is a great way to learn and make friends so it's well worth your time! Meeting starts at 7:00 or earlier if there are some early arrivals. We love having this sort of activity for our customers to see as it makes the store come alive. If you are in the area come on down and check it out!

Model club meeting tonight! If you are in to building scale models (or know someone who is) it is a great opportunity to meet like minded enthusiasts and exchange information!

Our parking lot is still closed but we are open today with regular store hours. As you can see in the pictures they are almost done with the striping. Parking is available on the streets and the adjacent lot in our shopping center. A little extra walk on a hot day is never a good thing but we are offering extra savings! Today only all regular priced general hobby (non RC) is 30% off, all sale priced general hobby take an extra 10% off. All regular priced RC vehicles (cars, p...lanes, boats, drones) are 10% off while parts and accessories are 20% off. All sale priced RC parts and accessories are another 10% off. Last, all prepaid special order items also qualify for the sale at the corresponding rate but in addition we pay the tax. That makes all special orders an out the door price! Bottom line is that everything in the store and everything available to us through our suppliers and distribution network is on sale!!! Just mention you saw it on Facebook and the discount is taken at the register. Remember you must mention it as the purpose of the sale is to bring in customers who normally wouldn't have come in to make up for lost business. We appreciate all of your help over the years but especially now with the move and lot closure. We know having these type of posts are not always your favorite thing to see in your news feed so with that in mind we will be posting and sharing more useful hobby tips and advice we see in our news feed. We will also be posting and sharing hobby related humor to keep things a little lighter. Thanks again!

Day two of three of our parking lot closure. They are applying the sealer today so they are on schedule to be finished tomorrow. As a reminder WE ARE OPEN!!! Parking is available on the streets surrounding our shopping center and in the lot ajacent at 501 Bangs Ave. We have had several calls and messages about this, no doubt from people who are in their car and see the parking problems. Our concern are the customers who are not calling and just assume we are closed. That appe...ars to be what is happening as the number of customers coming in is much lower than a normal Saturday. This is a huge deal as Saturday is normally the best day of the week sales wise. To offset this lost business we are running a sale to hopefully provide the needed incentive to deal with the inconvenience. We have placed so many items on sale that we ran out of sales stickers. There are some really good deals as many of these are below cost. We have included a few pictures of some examples. Also check out the previous post for even more sale items still available.
