The recent move into new offices in downtown San Jose offered the Bay Area News Group an opportunity to showcase the work of their award winning photographers in a dynamic art program that highlights the diversity of the communities they serve. Working with images selected by Michael Malone, the Mercury News Director of Photography, and Sharon Ryan, President and Publisher of the Bay Area News Group, the Mocas Group implemented a program of bold photography throughout the spa...ce. Once the collection of images was identified the Mocas Group developed a plan for sizing and placement of the prints. This step ensured that the visual needs of the space were met and kept in mind how the images would be viewed as employees and visitors circulated throughout the offices. This program brings both warmth and vitality to the Bay Area News Group offices while putting the talent of this organization front and center. It truly was a pleasure for us at the Mocas Group to work with this team.

For their new residential apartment development, Field House at Bay Meadows, the Wilson Meany team wanted an art program for the common areas that would welcome tenants home. The team was interested in a program composed of contemporary nature photography, and was quickly drawn to the fine art prints of Robert Campbell and Sharon Beals.The selection of work by these two artists for the main lobbies served as a foundation upon which art programs of framed prints were built for... the halls and common areas of each of the buildings. Works with vibrant colors were selected for the halls and common areas of Building 1 to complement the Robert Campbell salt pond photographs selected for the lobby. In the smaller of the two buildings, softer, more intimate images were chosen. Sharon Beals’ nest photos were placed in the lobby to greet tenants. Abstract nature images in a soft, neutral palette were installed throughout the halls.
