This 3 week old Gray Fox came to us thru Animal Control. Remember, when finding animals like this, Wear Gloves! You don't want there to be a concern about possible rabies exposure. We've got some calls out, trying to find a buddy for this one, they don't do well being raised alone.

We don't often get a look at this Black-tailed Jackrabbit, we just know he's still alive because the food is being eaten. He's been in care for 2 weeks and was so terrified, he would not eat from me, but he's figured out formula in a dish now.

Good morning Monday! This Western Screech Owl came in 2 days ago suffering from severe head trauma and unwilling to open either eye. She weighed in at a whopping 214g (average is closer to 150g!) We've been flushing and medicating her eyes and treating her for head trauma and she has gifted us with an egg in return :) We hope to get her back out soon so she can reunite with her mate and lay her eggs where they belong, in her own nest. Her left eye looks funny because it is closed and the feathers are wet from me flushing and medicating the eye.

Look at Fury run! He zigged and zagged and just out of view, Fury zigged around a cyclist and plowed right into a turkey! The turkey flew up into the tree but maybe Fury will have turkey eggs for dinner. He's got a week of wonderful weather and a beautiful moon to light his way and get himself situated, free again.

We've gotten 9 baby Western Grey Squirrels in 2 days. All were brought in due to trimming or removing trees and all were in great shape and had mom's actively caring for them and doing a good job. Now, according to the homeowners, the mom's haven't been seen since. Please, if you are having tree work done, make sure the tree trimmers check for nests before trimming. If active nests are found, can the tree work be postponed? If there is a hazardous condition and the tree must come down, give us a call and we will try to find a way to reunite the babies with mom.
