Since this weekend the news and social media has been repeating the WHO recommendation that dental care should be avoided unless its an emergency. This information has been mistakenly stated that it is a requirement. It is only a recommendation, a suggestion not based on fact. The ADA does not agree and finds that dental care is in fact a good idea as it helps keep your body healthy. Dental disease affects your overall health. Missing your dental cleanings and avoiding nec...essary dental care can cause other health issues. Please don't avoid your appointment due to fear. If you are high risk you must factor that when deciding to come to the dentist. This is serious and real. But if your overall health is good considering keeping your appointment. Hello all! We have the go ahead to resume some procedures starting next week. We will be back to our regular schedule starting Tuesday. We do have some changes we have to follow including a phone prescreen prior to any appointment. You must wear a mask to enter and we will take your temperature upon entering. If you feel you are sick, or have a fever, we cannot see you for your appointment. We must also be strict with appointment times so that we can follow social distance... guidelines. We will discuss all of this when we talk before your appointment. There are some changes in office protocol as well. Be assured we are following all CDC, Dept of Health, OSHA, ADA, CDA and governmental guidelines. Good Morning! Today we have confirmation that we can reopen with restrictions! We will resume a limited appointment schedule starting May 19th. What this means, if you have an appointment previously scheduled for May 19th or after you will get a phone call prior to your appointment. In that call we will prescreen for Covid-19 and determine if it is necessary for you to come in. We will also discuss the guidelines for coming to the office and treatment. If you do come please ...know that we will have to be *very strict* with the new guidelines. 1. You Must wear a mask to enter. 2. We Will take your temp with a no contact thermometer prior to entering the office. If your temp is 100.4 or higher we cannot allow you to enter. 3. You Must Be On Time. You should be in the parking lot, parked and waiting Before your apt time and enter the office no more than 5 min before your apt unless called in early. Let us know when you arrive. If you are late At All chances are good we Can Not see you. We must control the number of patients and when they are in the office for social distance. 4. We Can Not perform some procedures. Specifically ones that created aerosol. For example we cannot polish after a cleaning. We will do everything in our power to ensure that you, our patient, and our staff remain safe! We need your cooperation to help this be a smooth transition. Our staff has been very fortunate to have not contracted Covid but we must act as if all are a carrier to ensure continued health for all. We will follow all OSHA, CDC, CDA and Govt guidelines. Hello! We hope all our patients are healthy and safe. As you know we were required to cancel all appointments during the month of April. We now know we need to exted that into May. As of right now we are cancelling all appointments through May 17th. At of the time of this email we don't have a return to work date, however we are hopeful for May 18th. Fingers crossed! If you, or anyone in your family, has a scheduled appointment with our office through May 17th we are cancell...ing that appointment. We will begin rescheduling when we know a firm date that we can safely do so. What are we doing to protect you, and us? We have completely disinfected the entire office. We will be using PPE (Personal Protective Equipment) a bit more than you are use to in our office. We have special masks (N95), gowns, gloves. We are fortunate that we have a fantastic supplier that has been able to help us acquire these items as well as amazing partners in your care! Dr Lokot (oral surgeon) has provided us with a supply of impossible to get n95 masks to better care for you! Along with physical changes we will have to implement other changes. Once we have a date and confirmed best practices policy we will contact you with these new guidelines for dental visits. We are paying attention and following all CDC, ADA and CDA recommendations regarding patient care and what we can safely do. We take this very seriously. Dental is second on the list of high-risk environments / professions right now. If you have been exposed, even if you are not showing symptoms, please let the office know prior to coming to any appointments! Should you have a True Dental Emergency Dr Pfeifer IS available. Please call the office first and leave a message with your name and contact number and the issue you are having. Then call Dr Pfeifer directly (his number is on our office message).

During this time of self quarantine and best practices our office prepared to do our best for you. Per CDA recommendations Dr Pfeifer is available for EMERGENCY appointments only. He will Not be in the office unless we have a patient with a true emergency. If you have Pain please call! Our specialist offices are under the same guidelines. They have limited staff but are available to True Emergencies as well. Please consider if your situation requires immediate attention! I...f you are experiencing dental pain do not hesitate to call us. Cleaning appointments are being evaluated. Most appointments for this week (3/17) have been cancelled. If you have an appointment with the office and have not done so yet please speak to Kelly regarding your apt. She is trying to get ahold of you :) We will evaluate next week when it comes. The office will be on limited hours during this time. And while in office the staff is often on the phone with patients. Please leave a message as they will be checked frequently and emergencies will be called back. Until then - be safe, wash your hands and self quarantine!
