I miss my old basement! Of course, I grew up in a place where the basement was a given, and almost every house had one... large, not well lit, cold in the hottest summer, and with so many possibilities... of course, I was a kid, so it's not like I was going to remodel my parent's basement. Here's a few ideas if anybody has a basement that is lonely, underutilized, and needs a little love and inspiration... For the Sports Lover Transform the cold, dark digs into a space all s...ports fan could only dream of... Essentials are big screen TV, a pool table, comfortable recliners, sports memorabilia and your own personal mini fridge. For the Athlete Two words: personal gym. No longer will you have dart for the only open treadmill during primetime gym hours or wipe down the machine because all the germs are your own :)! For the Artist Always dreamed of having your own space to freely create masterpieces? Now is the time! Turn up the heat of your once cold and isolated basement with the warm hues of paints, pencils, and clays. Pick up some easels, fill the walls with things that inspire you and voila! Just keep in mind that because you’ll be in the basement with little light, choose a bulb with a CRI of 80 to 100 to reveal vibrant, natural hues. HERE'S WHERE YOU PUT YOUR OWN IDEAS FOR BASEMENT AWESOMENESS... anyone have anything??

Happy Monday & Nov 26th - Atherton Day!!! here's the basics: A scenic, rural residential community filled with attractive oak trees, pines, redwoods and cedars and includes a lot of open space. There are no industries or business establishments located within the city limits. Holbrook-Palmer Park is a picturesque location and hosts numerous events. ... here's the abbreviated history: In the early days, the entire region was part of the Rancho de las Pulgas. Years later, it was part of Menlo Park. The community was originally known as Fair Oaks but was incorporated as Atherton in 1923. The city was named in tribute to Faxon Dean Atherton, one of the region's initial property owners. With the arrival of the railroad, a large number of San Francisco residents constructed summer homes in Atherton. The community originally consisted of large estates but during the 1940's and 1950's smaller lots consisting of one acre or more were created. here is some of what is proximate to you, if you reside in OR visit Atherton: The Filoli Center, Palo Alto Junior Museum and Zoo, Carolands Mansion, the Museum of American Heritage and the Hiller Aviation Museum are located in the area. The Sanchez Adobe, Crocker Mansion, Cantor Center and the Palo Alto Cultural Center of Visual Arts are noteworthy destinations. pictured: Academy of the Sacred Heart in Atherton
