REGARDING OUR NEIGHBORS IN PARADISE DEALING WITH THE CAMP FIRE . Hi friends, We have been away from our beloved town of Chester for about 2 years now and struggle to hold on to the house. We hold on to the dream of someday having a place our kids can come back to, a town they grew up in and can share with their families happy memories. We hold on to the dream to host events, to add to the uniqueness that only our mountain town can offer, like Mistletoe Lane Christmas Boutique... opening again someday. Oh we loved seeing you all there, celebrating the joy of Christmas, and spreading the spirit of Jesus into the season. . But what is that compared to helping our neighbors in need? Our family and friends who bravely live on through the catastrophe of the Camp Fire? . We offered our home, Mistletoe Manor, to our family who evacuated from Paradise but they have yet a need for it. . So I wonder, can we offer a place for paying customers and a place for those who need a free temporary reprieve from the anguish of their recent experience? Probably. . If one family decided to rent the Manor and have a Hallmark Christmas, we could offer 3 free weeks of rest and relaxation to families who could use it. That is a week for 3 families and their friends, (and really, most of our guests have 2 or more families enjoying our home during their visit.) The same for the week before Christmas, and New Year's, another 6 + families. This is what we want to do: If anyone books the week before Christmas, during Christmas, or News Years for 5 or more days with at least 8 family or friends, we will block off 3 weeks for each week booked for Camp Fire victims. . We couldn't make any guarantees but we will certainly do our best to get a family in every week starting in January. We will certainly block those weeks for that purpose. (We would probably start by asking our family who lived there for recommendations on who could/would use a vacation.) .
