On December 28, our team leapt into action to mitigate an issue with damaged booster pumps due to a power surge, affecting a small area east of Mission Lakes Country Club. After we asked customers in the area to conserve water for the night, we put out the emergency call to contractors and suppliers, as well as water agencies across the state to help us find a new pump and organize private water deliveries for our customers. Thanks to our partnerships through CalWarn, we wer...e able to secure a new pump from Redlands, and the MSWD team worked through the night to get the pump up and running by the morning. We wish to thank our customers for their help in conserving water for the night, our team for their dedication and swift response, and our state-wide network of water industry professionals for working together to get the water flowing in a matter of hours. #Teamwork #Shoutout #Gratitude #CalWarn #TeamMSWD #DesertWaterAgency #ProvideProtectPreserve
New year, new commitment to getting the little things done. We suggest checking all of your faucets, toilets and sprinklers for any leaks or problems. Well, now you do! We love this photo from 2018 when the students came to learn more about what we do! Share some other fun trivia below and let’s celebrate the day. #MSWDTrivia #MondayMemories #communitypartner #ProvideProtectPreserve #ValueIsOurMission
To conserve water this fall, consider cutting back your watering schedule to once or twice a week. Cooler temperatures allow moisture to stay in the ground longer. If you are currently watering every day, try cutting back to every other day, or watering twice a week at longer intervals.

No-Shave November is a month-long journey during which participants forgo shaving and grooming in order to raise awareness of men's health issues, such as prostate cancer, testicular cancer, and men's suicide. According to the United States Geological Survey, face shaving can take up to 1 gallon of water. If only 20 million people shave their face three days per week, that’s 60 million gallons. Over the course of a year, that’s 3.1 billion gallonsthe size of a small reservoir! #Movember #NoShaveNovember

To close out National Vegetarian Month here’s a gardening tip you can’t beet! Beets are a great fall/winter crop to plant in your garden. They can withstand light frost and only need about an inch of water a week. Red, juicy, and delicious, there is nothing quite like a beet to give a meal a little flare.
Is water a replacement for an expensive anti-wrinkle cream? Maybe. Adequate water intake will help keep your skin hydrated and may even promote collagen production. Happy National Health Education Week!
