History was made at Providence Mission Hospital today! We administered our first COVID-19 vaccines to our frontline caregivers. This is a light at the end of the tunnel, Dr. Jim Keany shares, one of the first caregivers to receive the vaccine today. The vaccine has given hope to all of our nurses and staff who have been working so hard for nine months. Kenna Stone, MSN, RN, ONC, CMSRN, is one of the incredible nurse navigators who works with our orthopedics team. She has helped many patients through the process of knee replacement surgery using the ROSA robot. The patients I work with are remarkable. They put in so much time and work into preparing for surgery, it inspires me to do everything I can to support them. It’s been a year since Kathleen Weaver had her knee replaced at Mission Hospital with the ROSA robot. Mission Hospital is celebrating! A year ago, we introduced our ROSA robot for total knee replacement surgery and the results are astounding. I was in the hospital for just one night. And a few months later, I was riding my bike and going for walks again, says Judy Etherton, one of our first patients to have total knee replacement surgery with ROSA. Our orthopedic surgeons are dedicated to providing personalized care for each patient, and our robotics program plays an important role in that.
