Dear Mission Hills Town Council Members and Residents, We hope you and your families are safe and healthy as we continue to deal with the COVID-19 pandemic. Maintaining social distance of six feet and wearing masks when visiting our public areas, or while out walking our beautiful neighborhood, shows your respect for the imposed guidelines and the safety of your fellow neighbors. Our Board of Trustees will meet this Thursday, May 14th, via Zoom to chart our course going forwa...rd. We will be discussing the 2020 Summer Concerts season, an option of a virtual Public Meeting/Town Hall and any issues that have been brought forward over the last month. We welcome your thoughts and suggestions for us to consider during our meeting. Please email [email protected] with any questions or concerns. Be safe, MHTC Board of Trustees

PLEASE NOTE: All City-owned parks, trails, beaches, boardwalks and bays will be closed to further limit public gatherings and slow the spread of COVID-19. You may go outdoors, exercise or take walks around your home or neighborhood. But, people must continue to maintain a six-foot distance to limit the spread of the virus in the community. For a full list of closures and available City services, visit www.sandiego.gov/status. From Officer Surwillo:... Our police officers, firefighters, lifeguards and park rangers are out working hard to secure the parking lots, parks and beaches while educating citizens about safe physical distancing. Due to a crowded day on Saturday, public parking lots at our parks, trails, beaches and bays were closed. All parks, trails, beaches, boardwalks (bayside and oceanfront), seawalls and piers are closed to the public to encourage residents to stay home, promote the well-being of our community members and prevent the spread of COVID-19. Please work with city employees and understand they have a job to do and while it’s easy to think in a micro-world of I am not the problem or doing anything wrong we need to be thinking in the macro-world and we need to close locations where crowds have been forming and social distancing has not been practiced. I have personally witnessed citizens wanted to cross secured areas and debate with city employees regarding the closures. We can’t do that, we need to just understand for a period of time these measures need to happen. We will get through this and we will all be back on the beaches, in the parks and surfing as soon as this is over. PLEASE HELP US BY UNDERSTANDING IT IS NEEDED. v/r Officer David Surwilo San Diego Police Department Community Relations Officer Western Division
