Lockheed Martin Corporation is the latest corporate sponsor helping Mission College students during this pandemic by contributing to the emergency assistance fund. We’re pleased to provide support to the Mission College students during this difficult time. For many of them, the COVID-19 pandemic has created new challenges and we hope to help alleviate some of the added burdens they’re facingwhether that’s access to technology or healthy meals, said Mark Pasquale, general m...anager and vice president, Special Programs, Lockheed Martin. Lockheed Martin has long invested in our future workforce by inspiring and mentoring students in our communities. We’re committed to supporting our next generation of professionals in developing the skill sets they need to succeed in their careers and in life. Mission College has already distributed more than $1.7 million in direct dollars to students since March. This is in addition to providing over 300 laptops and WIFI hot spots through its loan program, and distributing more than 5,000 meals through gift cards and bagged lunches. The funding goes towards emergency assistance for students, which helps to provide financial, technological, and food assistance during the COVID-19 pandemic. In a recent survey of Mission students, 50 percent were worried about paying their bills, 41 percent had lost a job, and 15 percent did not have enough food to put on the table. The grant to Mission College is part of the company’s national COVID-19 relief and community response. Since the pandemic began Lockheed Martin has provided more than $21 million in charitable contributions addressing ongoing initiatives and immediate needs, including students’ access to technology, food security, and support to first responders. More than $1.5M of Lockheed Martin’s COVID-19 charitable giving donations has supported California-based organizations. Lockheed Martin has more than 4,200 employees in the Bay Area at locations in Sunnyvale, Palo Alto and Santa Cruz. "The needs of our students continue to evolve and working with companies like Lockheed Martin allows us to set them up for success," said Vice President for Student Services Omar Murillo. "Our goal is to help the students with the highest need so they can focus on their studies, and this grant helps support those efforts." Mission College continues to collaborate with community partners to help Silicon Valley residents. Second Harvest Food Bank provides weekly drive-thru food distribution and Kaiser Permanente has hosted a drive-thru flu clinic, both of which take place in Mission's parking lots B and C. To learn more, Mission has built a website for its students at missioncares.missioncollege.edu.

We only say this around Halloween, but this is the real reason we had to teardown the Main Building. We left a circle in the middle of the new plaza, just in case.

Normally our students carry this out, and the vegetables are taken by the students or used in the HM food service.
