Tomorrow, the Widows and Orphans Fund will be hosting their 12th Annual Golf Tournament in efforts to support the San Diego Police Department by providing relief when tragedy strikes. The Widows and Orphans Fund is the only charity that directly supports these sworn officers in times of death or injury. The team at our Poway Road Mini Storage location chose Hope Horse Ranch of Poway as their charitable organization for their donation for 2021. Hope Horse Ranch was chosen last year, as well. The PRMS team believes the ranch needs help this year more than ever. Hope Horse Ranch remains open as an outdoor horse camp, even when the schools in the district are closed, providing children much-needed therapy in a safe, COVID-free environment. Juelena Hope Attard, Founder and Direct...or of Hope Horse Ranch of Poway, created a non-profit arm of the ranch, so that children who are limited by financial constraints can also benefit from a therapeutic riding program. In 2018 San Diego Self Storage funded a police service dog through the San Diego Police Foundation. With much anticipation, we are excited to announce that the K9 we funded officially starts the K9 academy today! The SDPD K9 Unit has been recognized as one of the best teams in the country. This unit patrols all San Diego's streets, not just a specific division. These K9's are working 24-hours-a-day, seven-days-a-week to ensure the safety of our communities and we are so proud to support a program that benefits our police force, communities and families. We will share updates as we receive them and want to thank the San Diego Police Foundation for allowing us to be apart of this journey!
