DONATIONS NEEDED --- PLEASE READ A note about fundraising: In light of the cancellation of the 2020 season, the board has decided that the selling of candy or the candy buyout will NOT be a fundraising requirement for the 2021 Spring season. Many of you bought out or sold candy so we are rolling that forward for everyone in 2021 with the eye towards getting kids back playing baseball in our community. With that said, as a non-profit league that is prioritizing accessibility... for the entire Mira Mesa community by offering FREE registration for the 2021 Spring season, fundraising will be vital to the financial sustainability of MMLL. In addition to impacting our ability to play games during the 2020 Spring season, the COVID-19 pandemic forced the league to miss out on many of our most important fundraising events: snack bar concessions, hit-a-thon, restaurant nights, raffles and end of year auction. With our commitment to provide free registration for our MMLL families, we are hoping you will help our fundraising efforts in any way that makes sense for your family. Within the registration process, you will have an opportunity to support MMLL by donating a game ball, field reservation fee, one umpire for a game, team baseball bat, etc. Every donation matters and will help ensure a successful Spring season for our players and coaches. MMLL is Return to Play: Summer Season! While closely following the guidance of state and local health guidelines, as well as working closely with Little League International and CA District 32 officials, we are excited to announce that MMLL has a plan to Return To Play for a summer season! The safety of the entire MMLL community has always been and will always be our top priority. And as a result, we have created our "2020 Mira Mesa Little League Return To Play Physical Dis...tancing Safety Plan". This plan has been established in an effort to resume MMLL baseball activities while protecting and supporting the health and well-being of our players, managers, coaches, volunteers, and spectators. Due to the restrictions and guidelines for social distancing and the challenges that these guidelines will create for our youngest players, the 2020 MMLL summer season will only be offered for the Farm, Minors, Intermediate and Juniors divisions. A special thank you to the Needham family and Jason Williams for taking it upon themselves to start weeding, mowing, watering and basically cleaning up our baseball fields. We especially want to thank the Needham family for taking on 3 out of our 4 fields! Even though we aren’t playing and don’t know when we will, we as a league still have the obligation to help keep our beloved fields looking nice and cared for. So we welcome anyone that wants to help and give our fields so...me TLC (getting out of the house and getting some fresh air) to do so - as there are always weeds that need to be pulled, edging along fence lines and trash that needs to be picked up. But please remember the state and local public health guidelines for social distancing and mask wearing where necessary. Also, while the park may be open, the baseball fields are not and we kindly ask that bikes not be ridden in any of the infields and to please pick up after your dogs. We appreciate our league and community in support of keeping the park and fields beautiful. Thank you! Stay safe and stay positive Mira Mesa!
