We will never forget what happened 19 years ago today. We remember the 2,192 civilians, 343 firefighters, 71 law enforcement officers in the World Trade Center, 125 at the Pentagon and the 44 on flight 93 who lost their life on that tragic day. For the entire month of September, members of our department join together in honoring all of the fallen who lost their life on September 11, 2001. #NeverForgotten #911Anniversary

Please join us in congratulating the Chief of Police Robert Norcross on his retirement from the MiraCosta College Police Department after a long career of 32 years. Chief Norcross was the first chief to command the police department after accreditation in 1996. Chief Norcross received a lifesaving award in 2015 by performing CPR on an elderly person who collapsed in from of the Theater on the Oceanside campus. One of his fondest memories of working at the department was being able to attend 30 of the 32 commencements and see all of the graduates happy and celebrating their accomplishments. He also loved working closely with administrator, faculty staff and at most the students. You will be missed and good luck on your future endeavors. #retirement
