NEWS! One of BCSD's outreach activities includes an annual Choral Internship Week which invites choral students from a local university/college to perform iconi...c repertoire alongside BCSD at a Main Stage performance. This is a wonderful opportunity for choral students to work alongside some of the finest vocalists working today. CHORAL INTERNSHIP PROGRAM: 2016: San Diego State University, Dr. Patrick Walders Claudio Monteverdi, 1610 Vespers 2017: Point Loma Nazarene University, Dr. Keith Pedersen Franz Joseph Haydn, Lord Nelson Mass 2018: Palomar College, Dr. John Russell Henry Purcell: Odes 2019: San Diego State University, Dr. Matthew Nielsen Frank Martin, Mass for Double Choir In 2020, BCSD will welcome four choral students from Mira Costa College (North San Diego County), under the direction of Dr. Arlie Langager (Director of Choral and Vocal Activities), to join BCSD for two performances of the Bach 'St Matthew Passion' to end its 2019/20 season. We hope to see a lot of MiraCosta College singers in the CCSD Summer Chorus! They will get to sing a fantastic spectrum of terrific choral pieces. Register by tomorrow May 20 to get music in advance; otherwise pick up music at the door. Adults $60, Students only $15! Thanks for sharing.

I love being in the School of Music and Dance because we are a little community of musicians that all respect each other. We learn from one another and how to c...ollaborate with the different instruments we have to offer. Since most of our classes are smaller, and intimate, we end up forming close bonds with our peers that will last far past our college days. The faculty is also a part of that community by being our leaders in this tough major. They are our mentors and friends.
