What have you done this week that was important, but you didn’t feel like doing it? So much of what is helpful in the long term may be difficult to do in the moment. Whether that be going to the gym, eating healthy, practicing mindfulness, completing therapy homework, etc. Consider taking momentary want off of the table. If you find yourself avoiding something that could be supportive in the long term, consider if you’d be willing to do it anyways. Instead of waiting around for wanting to occur, try creating space for not wanting to be there.
