The election is just days away. If you've not yet voted, this weekend would be a good time to fill out your ballot, sign it and take it to one of Antioch's 24/7 safe ballot drop off locations. Antioch has two boxes - one at Antioch City Hall at 200 H Street and one at the Antioch Community Center at 4703 Lone Tree Way. Let's do this!

***Update*** Last night at about 9 PM Kris and I were driving through the shopping center on Somersville at Delta Fair (Bank of the West, CVS, Big Lots etc.). I saw a security vehicle so I stopped and talked with the man. He told me that CVS (vacant building) has added security to keep the lot clean and free from people living on the property as well as from garbage being dumped. We spoke for about a half hour and there was nobody on this property. He seemed to have a cle...ar understanding of what the residents want. This morning I spoke with the corporate rep for Big Lots. He too wants the same thing but told me that over the years because there are at least 4 owners of different plots of land in this center, each keeps pushing the issues from one plot to another. I asked him if he would be willing to sit down with all of the owners (including the owner from across the street, the old Food Max center) as well as code enforcement and the PD and see about coordinating security and clean up efforts as well as sharing in the costs. He is absolutely up for that. I will keep you updated.

It had been reported by some residents that they were concerned for fire safety near Somersville and James Donlon, thinking that there may be people lighting fires in the north end of the gully (towards the river) on James Donlon (west of Somersville). I spoke with a local drone pilot that flies this area often and asked him to take a look as there is heavy dry brush. He found what was suspected, including evidence of fire. This is a big safety concern and was reported to... the city. Thank you to the local drone pilot.

**UPDATE Delta Fair and Century** The lot has been cleared! We reported this last week and the city got right on it. Thank you to Officer Lenderman (APD), Curt Michael (Code Enforcement Manager) and Mitzi Dugan (Antioch parking enforcement) for getting this resolved. Also thank you to the rest of the city staff that was involved.

This graffiti has been on this building for more than a week. It's located just off James Donlon near Rio Grande. Last week I tried to report it but there was a problem with the See Click Fix app. But good news, this week I saw a city truck painting fences on James Donlon. I figured that it would be resolved...nope...they just drove right by. Why? The city staff are out in vehicles everyday. They too can take proactive action for this and other things around our city. You can't tell me that not one city vehicle drove by this location in more than a week and was oblivious to the graffiti. This has to change. It takes less than a minute to report this. Leaving graffiti up only encourages more. This WILL change.

**ANOTHER UPDATE** (Somersville and Delta Fair) Today I went back and the garbage was dumped AGAIN...same spot and looks very similar. It appears to be garbage from someone's home. We need to start looking at homes that do not have garbage service and have that enforced, because this is what we get. I sent an email to the manager of Bank of The West to see about security camera footage. This is ridiculous. Reported... #mikebarbanica #gettingantiochbackontrack
